A good hostel in a great location right next to Pasar Seni train station and China Town. Comfortable rooms with ok shared bathroom facilitates at the end of the building. Lucky to have a room with windows, though a little noisy. Common area and balcony very nice. Treat having free breakfast (peanut butter, jam and bread/toast) and a lift! Staff pleasant and helpful. Only real negative is that it generally lacked character, particularly in the corridors which were very cold, and slow internet.

When I checked in, one reception guy didn't care about me. He kept on talking with another people on the phone. German reception girl was so kind.

Great place to stay when in KL. Directly across the road from the train station and right around the corner from China town. Free wifi and breakfast is great too. Rooms were spotless and nicely painted in bright colours. Would definitely stay here again.

I will not tell anything. I think this comment will not be passed to the right person, because this hostel just should search for learned and teached staff! find some serious and professionel people. otherwise i feel sry bout the next guests.

We enjoyed our stay and have booked again when we return in June. We felt it was value for money and well placed for access to transport, sights and vibrant street life.

Matahari is a really great place to stay. It`s located near a station and bustling China town. The girls (Ashley and Faricha) are cool, friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay there again if I go back to KL.

I don't like the staff attitude. Chased to check out before the dot. It's uncomfortable to see her rude facial expression.

Spent my last 2 nights in KL at Matahari Lodge, the staff was very nice and helpful,of course there\'s cheaper places in town, but with appr.40RM for a single room of this standard it doesn\'t get much better.Good value for money and only 2 minutes away from the Pasar Seni train station.

Good place to stay if location and short distances to the recommended walks are your priorities. V good price for money and only one stop from KL Sentral main metro hub and airport connection point. I did not used shared common places upstairs (been out all days) but looked like people been socializing in the evenings. Poor sound insulation makes it hard place to go to sleep. Ah and no window in my room!

Even though the Matahari has changed hands ,the new owners have managed to keep the same helpful and friendly atmosphere I have enjoyed over several years

The hostel is located in a good location, near subway line in Chinatown. Rooms and bathrooms were nice and clean. Air conditioning is set to a nice temperature throughout the hostel. Would recommend.

I had stayed here before and left my luggage for a month so I was going back to collect and leave more! Staff, as ever, were fabulous. Downside is that the rooms are like coffins with no windows. Unfortunately for me on this occasion there was a snorer on the floor - walls are thin - and his hideous snoring kept me awake. Also the fan that brings in the cold air from the external A/C unit made a grindy noise that earplugs just couldn't cover. 2 slight niggles but overall a great experience

We had a great stay here and would advise anyone booking digs in Kuala Lumpur to go here, unlimited internet, unlimited use of kitchen and its right in the middle of china town, right beside the train station also, this made our trip to easy. The staff were great, could'nt do enough for you and i felt very welcome the whole time..... Five stars in my eye's..... :-)

This is a very nice hostel which is only one stop from central KL. we arrived early but this was not a problem as we could have breakfast and leave our luggage to enjoy the day. The staff are very nice and helpful, our room was a double room and it was very clean with bedding and comfy pillows. Free internet, maps on the wall with ideas on what to do in KL. We met acouple used this hostel every year and prefered this to any other.
