Noisy on the weekends. Not a lot of floor space is people have large luggage. Friendly staff.

I stayed in the ladies dorm, which was rather small. No storage space for 10 pieces of luggage. But the pods were really good, they give a lot of privacy which is nice when you're used to sleep in normal bunk beds. Location in Chinatown is also very convenient, with three MRT stations in walking distance. Had a good time at Matchbox and I will stay here again when back in Singapore.

This is very good hostel and the place is clean and quiet. I had a very good sleep and there is a curtain to close and keep me private. The bed is spacious. However, only the internet is not provided in the public and this is one of the very few hostels that do not provide public internet. Also, the price is too expensive with $35 above. If they can lower it below $30 during the non-peak period, I would consider to come more often.

Price wise, it was more expensive than I would have liked to pay, however that seems to be the case for most of Singapore. The privacy of a personal room, even the size of a bed was great. Location was average, but thankfully multiple train stations around the hostel was handy and Marina Bay Sands is in walking distance if you don't want to pay for a train. Being near Chinatown was handy also, cheap food, plenty of money exchange places and shops.

FREE MASSAGE chair for hostelguests If you're ok to sleep in a dorm and try not spending too much money then matchbox is the right choice. The room I stayed in (16 bed mixed, Spring Mist) is ok sized. And the concept with "box" beds is really good. I like it actually more than normal bunkbeds. It smells nice in the room which is not easy with max 16 people. Breakfast is from 6.00to10.30 - just cereals and a drink but its ok. Food court around the corner. Short walk to chinatown. Metro closeby.

Doesn't look like the pictures, fine stay but don't expect much, it's just a hostel not anything more as it claims! The location of the hostel is great but there is a damp smell throughout the hostel including the ground floor dorm we stayed in. The massage chairs need a clean! Reception was occasionally not manned and could find one receptionist hanging out in the chill out room meant for guests. The other receptionist we dealt with was very helpful. Cereal for breakfast is a nice change.

nice location at the ann siang hill, many bars there n filled with people at night . close to the metro station . clean bathroom, nice stuff.

The location is perfect that is closed to China town, although there is a little bit noisy at night due to the bar outside. There is only 2 things i need to highlight: 1) Insufficient air-conditioner at night 2) The bed is too soft Others are perfect.

Right on Chinatown's door step, this hostel is also on the very smart looking Ann Siang street - great for bars and boutiquey shops. There is a common room in the loft but it was very quiet as there weren't many people staying. Would have been nice if there were more activities to meet other travellers. Beds are okay - a little coffin-like at times and sweaty - need better ventilation in the rooms. Staff (Vinod and Niko) are beyond lovely - happy to chat and give suggestions.

it is a silent place for sleeping purpose but if there is somewhere to dry the clothes, then it will be great.

The photos are a bit misleading. The rooms are much smaller than they appear. The boards behind my head were I slept were filthy, I'm convinced they have never been cleaned. Otherwise, location was really good and it's easy to find.

Giant dorm room, 20 beds I think. Wasn't even half full when I was there though. Bit of free breakfast was nice. Solid location in Chinatown.

Interesting hostel, with cubbies for beds. Great location near an awesome open-air food market, and easily walkable to the harbor. Didn't meet anyone, the layout of the beds and such made it a little odd for that. I'd say here again, though.

Great location as we love china town. Mrt is only 5 mins away as well. Dorm was clean and had own small lockers. The showers had complimentary shower gel which is a really nice touch catching on with a lot of hostels now. Really secure with tap in cards and 24 hour supervised. Nice loft area. Bad point was the bed. It was awful and so was my boyfriends . It was as thin as a pancake and had moulds of past users. Eurgh. one communal toilet area which was downstairs.
