The hostel is in a very good position, very close to the most famous attractions. The room and the bathroom were dirty and uncomfortable. Breakfast was OK and the staff is very kind, friendly atmosphere.

Hostel was good, only thing that wasn't is that we didn't have window in our room, so it was difficult to get fresh air. Breakfast was good, staff were really nice and helpful as well as its owner. All in all, hostel was OK.

This hostel definately has an atmosphere. Especially the staff is very friendly and helpful. They like to have a chat and socialize with the clients..so they make you feel very comfortable, like you are at home and that it is good to know that you have people around who are willingly to answer your questions, to give you advices about your travel...you can enjoy some quality humour too :)

Spend the extra euro or two, go elsewhere. Breakfast was an egg, two or three slices of tomato and a packet of jam they stole from their last ride on Turkish Airlines. The only things this place had going for it were the two girls working the front desk.

The staff and location were great! It is quite small and I could imagine it would be uncomfortably crowded in the summer, but in the winter with only a few guests, it was very nice. I really liked this hostel and would highly recommend it. However, the beds were quite springy and I think there was only one bathroom. Everything else was great, especially the breakfast and apple tea.

By far the best hostel I have ever stayed at! The staff were excellent! Ali was so accommodating, and always able to get his guests excellent deals. Not impressed with the bathrooms- but that is made up for in apple tea!

Mavi Guesthouse is the place to stay! Its in a good location, you get a good breakfast, and its great value for your money. The best thing about Mavi guesthouse is the owner 'Ali'. He is one of the most genuinly kind people I have ever met. He really cares that you are safe and having the best time possible.

Guesthouse is very close to main attractions. Perfect location. I stayed in double room which was large enough to have one bed and little bit space for bags including one cabinet for smaller stuff. Shared bathroom is one on the floor and contains 2 showers, only one toilet and one sink = little bit crowdy during morning when everyone on the floor wants to brush teeth. Breakfast includes bread, jam, cheese, butter, 1 egg and coffee or tea. Fair guesthouse for fair price.

It was a pleasure to visit thos hostel. Staff is kind and helpfull. They have probebly the biggest dorm i've ever seen but it's ok. If I could choose my hostel again I definitely go to Mavi. The breakfast is not to big but it's tasty. The bathrooms are not in the best condition but I wasn't worried that I will bring sth from there. I honestly reccomend this hostel! Thanks to all of hostel staff!

Fantastic hostel - has lots of heart and soul. Friendly relaxed atmosphere made it difficult to leave the place - very easy to spend hours at a time just chilling out. Great location, and Ali, the owner was the ultimate host - friendly, but not intrusive and full of lots of good advice and ideas. Highly recommend Mavi to others.

Ali is great. He knows so much about Istanbul and always takes the time to talk with guests and share this information. The hostel is very well located to all the places of interest. Breakfast times are flexible (until 12)

The hostel is in the best position and you can walk to everything. The gentleman that runs the place is lovely and will bend over backward to help you out. He even packed a breakfast for us as we were catching an early bus and would miss breaky at the hostel.
