We are three girls and we enjoyed it so much in Mavi Guesthouse. We had a really great time. Its the best place to meet people from all over the world and we had a lot of fun. The location is perfect. Only a few minutes from the most important places in Istanbul and in a beautiful quarter with a lot of restaurants and shisha bars. Ali the owner is so amazing and he cares really for you to have a good time. We would recommend it to everyone. Mavi Guesthouse is allways worth a journey!

I didnt stay there for a long time but I spent a good time in this place, it was quite friendly, comfortable and safe, especially I appreciate the attitude of the managers. If I need a place to stay in Turkey again I will probably decide in favor of Mavi Guesthouse.

Mavi Hostel's location was amazing, window faced the Hagia Sophia. Ali was great, friendly, and helpful. I never once felt unsafe. The breakfast was a great start to our days as well. I would highly recommend Mavi Hostel to anyone looking for an inexpensive way to travel!

Filthy. Noisy. Nasty. One of the worst hostels I've ever been in both Asia and Europe. Last time that bathroom was cleaned was in the times of Sultan Fatih.

STAY HERE! Ali was THE most helpful owner we encountered during our travels in Europe. He not only told us where to go, what to eat and what to see, but he actually drove us around Istanbul and showed us the neat places to go out, late night. The hostel ALSO received discounts for tourist attractions such as the Turkish bath and the Bosphorus Dinner Cruise. If I went to Istanbul again, I would definitely stay at Mavi due to its prime location, as well as the very helpful and generous staff :)

Amazing hostel, the owner Ali is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet and makes it feel more like home than a hostel. He also gives unique recommendations for a more local experience within Istanbul and around the country. Very convienently located in Sultanhamet, with the view of the Aya Sofia from the room! Definitely recommend this hostel to everyone...will stay here everytime I come to Istanbul!

Excellent view from the dormitory of the second floor (Aya Sofia monument). Probably it would be great to sleep in the roof terrace during the summer and have a panoramic view of Aya Sofia.

The hostel is in a very good position, very close to the most famous attractions. The room and the bathroom were dirty and uncomfortable. Breakfast was OK and the staff is very kind, friendly atmosphere.

Hostel was good, only thing that wasn't is that we didn't have window in our room, so it was difficult to get fresh air. Breakfast was good, staff were really nice and helpful as well as its owner. All in all, hostel was OK.

This hostel definately has an atmosphere. Especially the staff is very friendly and helpful. They like to have a chat and socialize with the clients..so they make you feel very comfortable, like you are at home and that it is good to know that you have people around who are willingly to answer your questions, to give you advices about your travel...you can enjoy some quality humour too :)

Fantastic hostel. Rooms are simple, hostel is small, but quiet, friendly and relaxed. The location is perfect right beside Topkapi and Hagia Sofia and, for the price (inc breakfast), you can't go wrong here, the atmosphere was awesome. This is also where the real, more interesting travellers seemed to be at too and Ali the owner made Mavi all the more special. Should be called Ali's Guesthouse. Thank you. Brilliant!

Spend the extra euro or two, go elsewhere. Breakfast was an egg, two or three slices of tomato and a packet of jam they stole from their last ride on Turkish Airlines. The only things this place had going for it were the two girls working the front desk.

The staff and location were great! It is quite small and I could imagine it would be uncomfortably crowded in the summer, but in the winter with only a few guests, it was very nice. I really liked this hostel and would highly recommend it. However, the beds were quite springy and I think there was only one bathroom. Everything else was great, especially the breakfast and apple tea.
