Good hostel, pretty close to the town.

Good service small and quiet place ,

A good hostel with all the facilities you need and a very nice and talkative administrator. A nice and clean room (although tiny) was provided. The hostel is at 20 minutes walk from the main square, but only one minute away from tram line 2, which is a great way to see the city.

Great hostel. Calm and very familiar. Nice and friendly staff. Mr. Perry keeps this place extremely clean. Feels like home. Great value for a cheap price. Highly recommend this hostel.

Very satisfied with my choice. Good location, extreamly friendly staffs, value for budget.. Only downside is the heating system. Since it is a very old house, the heater makes very noisy sound during whole night. We had to turn it off the one in our room for more quiet sleep, but it was not that cold without it.

No frills, but clean and located on a fun street.

Basic facilities but good value for money. The pillows could use an upgrade but the bathrooms are in pretty good shape. There aren't any luxuries but it has all you need, not bad for the price.

Our staying at the Maxim Hostel was very pleasent. The hostel is located in a good neighbourhood where there are a lot of restaurants and supermarkets. It is near the city center. The owner of the hostel was very kind, and ready to help.

Great hostel, will definitely stay again next time in Budapest.

Great value for money, great location and a very nice owner. Altogether a very pleasant experience, the only thing that bothered me a bit, was that there was no staff present most of the times, who we could ask for advice and questions.

Brilliant location right on a road with loads of cheap restaurants and an easy walk to anywhere you might want to go in the city. George who runs the hostel is very friendly as well. Overall a good cheap place to stay for a holiday in budapest.

When we were there there was a power cut due to poor weather, however the actual hostel was clean and there were two friendly members of staff. Not sure if it was deliberately this way or due to the power cut, however there is a sofa by the door and someone was sleeping on that, not sure if this was because it was a dorm bed or not, but it meant that you had to walk past someone sleeping to go to the toilet or for a shower. Room was tidy, but the window did look directly into the shower room.

The hostel has only 1 bathroom for all rooms. So, you have to wait in a queue for hours every day. Secondly, there is a cleaning lady, coming every morning but she does only laundry, no cleaning at all, should give more importance to cleaning. Third and the most important one; the beds were too old and extremely uncomfortable. We were 4 guys and none of us slept well. We clearly felt the bed springs at our backs. The only positive side;We haven't seen the owner, George, but he was nice on phone.

Had an absolutely great time at this hostel. Unfortunately our train was delayed so we were unable to meet George however I spoke to him on the phone and he seemed absolutely lovely! We only had a short stay but we were allowed to leave our luggage for a few extra days whilst we went to sziget festival which was really helpful. Overall a really homely feel where you feel truly welcome.
