this hostel is extremely uncomfortable. Rooms have no windows and no heating, no tables.

I did not stay there because I had to stay longer in Amman. I am duspleased about the no refund policy

My single bedroom without bathroom was really tiny. So small in fact that the light switch was blocked by the wardrobe, and the bed was in the way of the balcony door. The shower practically on top of the toilet seat, that wasn´t very nice, but there was hot water and so on. My stay was nothing fancy, but all in all it was cheap and in a good location.

The breakfast is outside. When you are there in winter, this is too cold.

Nice hotel (say two stars) and nice neighborhood that offers peace in a very highly chaotic city. Its easy to find but get a taxi first time then plan walking route to the metro.

This is a super old place and the rooms show it. I really wouldn't stay here again, no matter what lonely planet says.

We ( family, 2 children 12 and 17 years old) stayed 4 nights in MayFair. It was always good to go back to Zamelek, away of the noise of the town. Good room, clean. Take your own taxi from the airport, MayFair asked to much

3rd time i've stayed there and this was the best room i've been put in (no.103). Previously the rooms (on the floor above reception) were just OK, but this time (on the same floor as reception) it was excellent. Only downside was that I asked for a double room (double bed) but got a triple (single beds) room, so had to push two beds together. Other than that it was great and the staff very helpful. Will recommend it to friends.

quite a bit of mosquito. It will be good if there is any mosquito equipment installed in the bedroom. The cleanliness varies from room to room, could be improved.

cute little hostel... clean and has a really nice balcony... close to main strip in zamalek and short cab ride to tahrir

Good value for money considering the location

the hotel is OK, but the staff is indecredibly unpleasant and stuborn especially for Egypt where people are so nice. They said they can send a taxi to the airport, I booked it, they confrimed it, the taxi never came and i didn't get any excuses. It is the customer do to the change not the hotel and so on. I don't recommand it at all.

If you are a single woman in Egypt wear a wedding ring. Also in Turkey and Marocco. It will save you turning down proposals. I\'m old, I\'m past proposals. This was a nice hotel but I have lived in Cairo and know my way around. It might be confusing if you don\'t, but the staff will help you. Zamalek is a nice neighborhood.

The management ensured that our time in Cairo was easy and helped book and organize a lovely holiday to the south. The hotel is very reasonably priced for the location and has a classical air to it. We would have no hesitation recommending this place to any travellers.

Very quiet and clean hotel. Daily room service, towels, toilet paper etc. The location is great, opposite the French consulate and near the Mariott Hotel, but about 2 km from downtown, a short taxi ride. A place to relax in the big city - certainly more quiet than all the downtown hotels and no hassles in this area. Highly recommended!

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Owner is Canadian and speaks excellent English. Situated in a very quiet area in Zamalek - a bit removed from the tourist attractions (one km from the opera, modern art museum or Egyption museum) but the peace and quiet makes more than up for that. Tours, taxi rides etc. were organised with minimal markup. Rooms very clean and spacious. Wonderful balcony to sit and relax (it was full of Xmas decorations). Definitely my choice for my next visit!

The hotel is located in an excellent quiet area, close to lots of shops and restaurants. It is pretty close to the major downtown Cairo attractions and is an excellent trade off between a desire to be close to the attractions, and to have some sense of peace and quiet... After all, this is Cairo!!!
