Great location for downtown Cancun. Stayed for one night and then came back two weeks later to stay again. Staff were exceptional and the breakfast is the best hostel breakfast I have had. Will go back!

Great location, secure, comfortable and friendly. Staff are excellent all round, but specifically Marcus who went out of his way to help us with every aspect of settling in to Mexico and planning our trip. If you want to fly into Cancun to start your trip around Mexico, then you can't do better for a hostel than this one. I am using it again before my flight out of Cancun.

The hostel is only two blocks from a new bus station that serves the airport so it was easy and safe to carry all my gear over there at 4am when I had to to catch a bus for the airport. . The staff were friendly and spoke English. A good experience for a weary traveller.

Mayan hostel is a lot of fun!! The staff is super friendly and knows everything there is to know about Cancun. The atmosphere to meet other travelers is the best I\'ve ever seen. You have to take a bus to get to the beach, but its actually nicer to be in the center of cancun than by all the crazy big hotels. Overall very enjoyable!!

I was so happy with the convenience of this hostel. It is literally a few minutes\' walk from the main bus station that gets you to the airport or pretty much anywhere else in Yucatan that you\'d want to go. The guy who runs it was super helpful and the breakfast was really great. The only bad thing was that the listing said it\'s air conditioned but our room was definitely not air conditioned. He did provide a fan, though.

Was mentioned by the staff that the cost of tour to Chichen Itza is $60 round trip. I asked for other options, but they keep insisting that its the only price. I had to figure out and found a way to go to Chichen Itza for only $18.75 round trip by using Playa Express van from Cancun to Playa del Carmen, then another van from Playa del Carmen to Tulum, then Tulum to Vallaloid, then to Chichen Itza. I know staff knew but they won´t tell me. And, Air Conditioning is ok. Great breakfast!

This hostel has a wonderful charm, and the staff, particularly Paul, we're very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the fan and aircon were broken in our room which, coupled with poor ventilation, turned the room into an oven. Also the bed was not very comfortable. Overall I would recommend the Mayan hostel - a great place to stop in Cancun and amazing location.

Liked it a lot. Perfect athmosphere for a relaxed stay. Mattresses sucked though and breakfast quality was excellent but quantity poor. Still recommended to give it a try!

They have legit the BEST breakfast for any hostels I\'ve ever stayed!! Staffs are really chilled and helpful. Good location, less than a minute walk to bus stop. If you are lucky enough, you\'ll see 2 very adorable puppies that Mike owns. The only thing I don\'t like is mosquitoes, but there are mosquitoes everywhere in Mexico. So just bring a repellant with you.

Very good breakfast, amazing helpful staff, no matter what you're asking for. Perfectly situated in the city if you wanna see some local living and do not want to speak just english. I recommend having lunch and dinner at the parque las palapas! amazing place!! close to the bus had a very very pleasent stay! I'd love to come back any time!

Definitely not! with a few pesos more, you will certainly find better! Upon arrival, the ground was covered with dirty laundry, a smell of sweat on the stairs and # & @ # on the roof. If you have the spirit of the 70s, this "hut" is for you. Do not forget your mosquito repellent, your locker and your earplugs. (the breakfast is not before 9AM and the double bed private ensuite is not with AC but a little fan. No hot water too if you have water.) The bed was brown...have a good dream !.
