Loved the boutique hotel feel of the Mayflower with great staff and wonderful homemade breakfast. Being right in the heart of the city was a bonus.

We thought that the area next to Mayflower was very convenient, without being in the City Center!

The Mayflower has a great deal of character. Whilst the rooms and linen were clean, there was a strange, unpleasant smell in both rooms that did not disappear, despite keeping windows open.

The only problem was the elevator, one elevators broke down and was not operational for most of our stay, (we stayed on the fifth floor, and had to wait more than 5 minutes for the elevator)

My husband and 27 year old son and I stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. We were comfortable in the room which was quiet and clean. We enjoyed having a microwave. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel for people who want a simple, clean, old atmosphere with a nice breakfast. It was also nice to have a TV and the location was convenient for walking or taking buses. We liked the neighborhood, market next door, and restaurants near by.

Located i Nob Hill section close to the BART. If you are okay with walking uphills to the hotel, then this place is a good value for the money. Staff is wonderful. Good continential breakfast, old world charm, with comfortable affordable rooms.

The Mayflower met all of our expectations. Located in walking distance of Union Square and full of character. Murals on every wall were a nice touch. Clean, stylish furnishings. Only minor things could have improved our stay - like washing up liquid, a tea towel and more implements and dishes in the kitchenette in our room. The breakfast food was mostly very sweet which probably reflects general taste in USA rather than any shortcoming by the hotel.

The Mayflower has a fantastic historic feel to it. We loved the charm and the service was fantastic. Great location, nice breakfast buffet, clean rooms and great service. I have been in the hospitality industry for 30 years and highly recommend this hotel.
