I am very happy with my choice of Mazz Homestay as my first home base in Sri Lanka. The place is small and friendly, and I felt well taken care of by Rome and Aida. It's a place to relax, converse, read, cook (sort of). It is in Negombo proper and walking distance to everything, rather than on the tourist beach strip, which I appreciated. A comfortable place and good first impression of Sri Lanka. I'll be staying there again on the way to catch my return flight.

Awesome guesthouse. Rome, the owner/manager, is truly a great man and he will do whatever he can to help you. Nice place, you really feel like you share a family's daily life, Beside, the location of the guesthouse is unbeatable, as you are mere seconds away by walking from the bus station, and few minutes from the train station. And the international airport is about ten minutes away by tuk tuk. A perfect place to arrive in Sri Lanka or depart from the country.

It is the owner\'s home. The staff is very helpful to give us advice, because the place is not really easy to find.

Perfect location for a late-night arrival into Colombo Bandaranaike. We stayed at either end of a short Sri Lanka tour, and found Mazz to be a friendly and convenient place for getting to the airport. If pushed for time I would recommend crashing out for a night, and taking your time to make the long (and hectic) journey into Colombo.

A decent hostel that was clean and has a very pleasant lounge that is more than big enough for everyone who is staying there. It's also very convenient for the bus station and is the closest budget hostel to the airport. There is internet access but not WIFI and the gate is locked at 10:00 PM so if you want to go out you will have to call or like me climb over the fence.

Our booking was for a double room with attached bathroom. However we were informed on arrival that there was no such thing ,all the rooms were with shared facilities.I consider this not only false advertising but outright fraud. Should get rid of this kind of accomodations!

We started and ended our Sri Lankan adventure ably assisted by Rome and his lovely family who couldn't have done more to help us. Very convenient for Negombo bus station and flopping straight from our flight from the UK! Highly recommended!

Very good accommodation at reasonable price. Location is very good as it is near the airport. Staff are very helpful, for example, I had to travel further to Yala National Park and staff let me leave my baggage at the hostel till I return back.:)))))

Mazz Homestay was a very nice place to stay. Good place to start and finish your trip cos its near the airport (10 km). Very nice atmosphere, excellent place to meet amazing ppl, travellers from around the world and spend great evenings on the balcony smoking cigarettes and drinking arrack;). Breakfast is rather poor (toasts and jam) but you have also unlimited access to tea or coffee:). The whole place is clean, bathroom with a hot water (but in this weather you dont need it much).

Extraordinarily friendly staff (young married couple) -- Aida and Rome -- and their extended family. Very good value. A couples room and a small 4 bed mixed dormitory are available. Very clean and staff knowledgeable and helpful. Very clean and tidy with good computer system and internet access.

This is a great place to start or end your time in Sri Lanka as is very easily reached from the airport & very near the main bus station in Negombo. For sure it is not on the beach, but a 13 LKR bus ride takes you the short distance to it & Negombo doesn't boast to be the best beach in Sri Lanka anyway! Rome & his family are so nice & very helpful, we couldn't have asked for a better welcome to Sri Lanka...don't hesitate to stay here, you won't regret it & we will be returning!
