Patrick was a great host, remembered all guests names and made the effort to introduce everyone. The vibe at this place is awesome, and Patrick and Matt are just genuine good guys. Make sure you do the city tour with jobur, most informative and hilarious day ever. Thanks guys!

Patrick and Mathew made me feel at home straight away, inexpensive pickups from the Airport and great local Knowledge of JoBurgh. Patrick will organize any Baz bus trips of tours you want to take. The Hostel has a homely feel which helps you relax and get to know other travelers in the lounge and bar area. Would definitely return for a second visit. Andy England

We stayed at this hostel for three nights and were made to feel very much at home. The owner, Patrick, is very friendly and helpful and made a big effort to introduce us to other guests. Our room was freshly painted, basic but very clean and cosy, complete with electric blankets on the beds (Jo'Burg gets chilly at night!) There is a lovely garden, with a spotless pool and a cosy bar. If you come here, make sure you go on the full-day Soweto tour with Jabu, excellent value for money and great fun!

When i stayed in Mbizi all the time i felt like at home , Patrick and Matt are always very helpful, either when you need advice or book the tour and also when you need to be pick up from the bus station or drop off to the airport. There is supermarket near to the Mbizi, and few places where you can eat, everything is in short walking distance. Thanks for you Patrick and Matt for very nice time in Mbizi.

This place was an excellent oasis from the hustle and bustle of Jo Burg! We rented a car and got lost but Matt the owner's brother helped us get there. Patrick the owner helped us put together a four day trip to Kruger and Swaziland and it was awesome!!! Truly a relaxing atmosphere at the bar and the outside area. Thanks Patrick and Matt for making Jo Burg a great experience! -Lindsay and Doug.

Great place to stay around Jo-Burg! We stayed here for a couple of days and the owner arranged a sight-seeing tour around town which was much better value-for-money than the commercial tours. Relaxed athmosphere, great selection of movies and clean showers/toilets/kitchen etc. Will definitely return when I visit South Africa in the future!

I booked 1 night online before I went to South Africa and when I got there, I decided that I would like to stay two other nights. That was no problem at all. I spend 3 nights at the bar of the hostel with Patrick and learned a lot about South African music and comedy. Patrick is a great guy.

We stayed at private room with ensuite.Room was ok but hostel is far away from the city center. We do not recommend if you are not familiar to Johannesburg public transportation or if you don't rent a car.

Mbizi hostel made my stay in Johannesburg to an amazing one. The hostel was very clean, cosy and a ´home away from home`. Especially Patrick and Matthew are very nice and always up for a Chat or beer. Pick-up and drop off Service from/to the airport w orked out pretty well. And whatever you like to book in/around Johannesburg, safari etc., the two Brothers will help you for sure! Thanks for the best last stop of my worldtrip at Mbizi Hostel. Miriam

Great people who own the place, big ups to Patrick. Very nice place to spend some time. Good value for the money! Especially the taxi rates they charge, much cheaper then regular taxi and you discuss anything with them. Would definitly go back again. Cheers, grtz from Netherlands!

The hostel is run by two brothers, who make you feel at home from the start. As any place in Johannesburg, it's pretty far off though, so i recommend renting a car at the airport.

Brilliant hostel esp. for a stopover in Joberg. Patrick the owner is a great bloke to chat with. Highly recommended. And if you are a cricket lover, no better place to be in.

Nice swimming pool, friendly staff, living room with cozy sofas...mini market only 5 minutes walking, as well as nice (and very affordable!) restaurant.. only the rooms are very small (we had a double room) and kind of dark .. but all in all, recommendable!

It was my birthday when I arrived and the guys picked up some cupcakes and candles which was nice being so far from home. The outdoor bar and pool seems really fun at peak season. The place is very homey.

Good place to relax, Patrick is very helpful. Nice tour of Joburg a little pricey but worth it. Better if I had a car it is far from city attractions. Quiet and comfortable.
