Clean, well located, the rooms have AC, a fan, a fridge, wifi and tv, the bathrooms have hot water, and for the lucky ones the balconies have monkeys. You will have to ask for towels. Lots of cheap food options and travel agencies nearby the hostel. The hostel can provide free pick up depending on where you arrive in Phnom Penh. You’ll have to contact them for this.

Clean and big dorms with AC and fan, big and confortables beds. Each person has a big locker, big enough to fit a massive backpackers bag!! There is no common area, just a restaurant that serves good food. The staff is very friendly and the location is good very close to the river. I would recomend the Me Mates.

I would recommend staying here. The rooms were very clean, we actually had the cleaners banging on the door to clean when we slept in! The rooms were a good size with aircon, an ensuite and tv. The bar downstairs had WiFi and good food and drink. Its just a ten minute walk from the riverside bars and restraunts. The only thing I would complain about is they advertise it as having a pool but it is actually a ten minute walk away in another hostel!

The hostel itself seems to be riding on the fact that it's received good reviews for some time and doesn't really seem to want to make the effort. Perhaps we were unlucky, but unlike any of the other places we stayed across Cambodia and Vietnam on this trip, the staff here made no effort. No effort to engage, poor service in the bar/restaurant, and just a general feeling that we were in the way. Plus sides - the hostel was alright, no windows in the room; the food was okay too.

The staff was great, or I should say the people working there there were great as people. As they might not all be so well trained yet, the service can be a bit patchy at times, but you forgive that, because they're just so sweet. Location is a bit far from the centre, but I was not able to find better option closer to the centre at this price range and with these facilities so I think I would recommend Me Mates and then just counting a few dollars per day for transportation ($2 to centre).

When we arrived to Phnom Penh we forgot something in the bus. Me Mates understood the problem and our luggage was stored away and they did everything to help us. The room was OK and clean but quite expensive. We decided to stay one more night, and we were told we could stay in the same room, but it turned out we couldn't. When we ordered a busticket they told us there was a festival, so it got more expensive, but we suspect it was a made up festival. We disliked the staff, would not reccomend.

The swimming pool and pool table are actually 600m away, not 200m and the staff was reluctant to give me the location as I refused to use their tuk-tuk driver for such a short distance. The wifi didn't work upstairs and by that I mean the password I was given was incorrect and I was told they wouldn't fix it (or give me the correct password). The room was clean and it was a little further north from the main area of town but otherwise ok though not a great place for meeting other travelers.

Location was good - right next to Wat Phnom. The staff could've been friendlier, or at least smiled more. One of them, every time we wanted to book a tour or something, he'd say the prices increased due to this and that. But when we booked it with another staff member, they quoted the original price instead! There wasn't really a communal area too, just a restaurant and if you didn't buy anything, they'd stare at you the entire time.

Young, friendly Khmer 'kids' on reception. Helpful in organising tours of Phnom Penh. Good food too - I'd recommend their chicken burger with honey mustard sauce.

Me Mates Place served its purpose, a cheap nice room near enough to the touristy places. The pool advertised is in another hostel about a 15 minute walk away, the staff could have been a bit more friendly.

Clean hostel close to river but a bit away from the bar area. we had a room with no window but it had a nice mural on the wall which brightened it up. The a/c was brilliant , perfect for good nights sleep. Good place to relax but move closer city centre for a party hostel.

Really enjoyed our time at Me Mates place and it was a brilliant base in which to explore Phnom Penh. Only about 10 minutes walk along the river to the Palace and Wat Phnom. Our room was clean and very comfortable with a nice little balcony, wonderfully strong A/C. Very good value for money in fact very cheap for the excellent facilities and the room. The food is also very good and the staff were very helpful in sorting out onward travel, would stay here the next time we visit Phnom Penh.

Besides staff are good, I got problems while booking my bus ticket. They sold a wrong time that I `ve asked, and I lost my transfer in my destination....

Nice hostel, not really far from the city (close to the weekend night market), clean. On the flip side, I did not really like the fact that the motor drivers can pick up your bags at the reception to your room then selling their "tour" and once you say no because the price is so high, they look really upset. A hostel should not allow strangers to his staff being able to enter the room of costumers!! No internet (Wi-Fi) in the rooms!

The hostel was great and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, on arriving I was given a 7th (camp bed) in the 6 bed dorm! Tuk tuks were expensive for day trips and I was not taken to all of the sites agreed upon with the driver that morning (as stated by the hostel). The hostel then failed to book my taxi to the airport even though I asked the night before and 3 times in the morning. I nearly missed my flight! Poor organization!

Spotlessly clean rooms, effective aircon and great showers. It's situated a tuk-tuk or moto ride away from the main touristy area along the riverfront, but everything you need is within walking distance and you've got access to stuff at their partner hostel on 88 street which is about five minutes away. As it is that would be reason enough to stay again, but what makes this place special is the staff. Wonderful, friendly people who are great fun. Thanks guys!

Great place to stay! Rooms were clean, beds were huge, AC was cold, and the huge lockers were amazing. Loved it so much, I came back after Sihanoukville and stayed 2 more nights. Also, the french toast was delicious!
