One of the bigger hostels. It's in the heart of the city, you can reach a lot of sights and options to eat by feet, but the hot spots require a bus or taxi. Friendly english speaking staff that tries to handle all your requests. The atmosphere is for relaxing and partying everyday. They offer a lot of tours so you can easy stay a week. Really cool is the option to sail to Panama. Of course it takes more days and money! I tried out flyboarding (80€) and its a new religion to me ;)

If you want to have a proper rest after a long trip, just know that it's not the right place. The hostal is quite big and loudy, people are partying all night and don't care much about their co-host that want to rest. Apart to that, place is nice, good ambient, pool dirty :)

I met some great friends at Media Luna, we all traipsed off to do the mud bath in the volcano and spent our time floating and drinking beer in the pool. The rooftop parties were amazing, the pool a life savior in the heat of Cartagena, and the security great on nights they opened the roof to the public . I'm a freak for heat, but Cartagena is HOT! Splurge for aircon here, cos there aren't enough fans in the rooms - or take a top bunk to be closer! Everything's clean and the staff are helpful x

Great vibe and location. The Wednesday night party in the hostel was a highlight. The only issue was the heat...make sure you book a room with air conditioning! In Cartagena air conditioning is a necessity not a luxury.

This is an excellent party hostel, so it probably makes sense to only stay there if you're looking to party pretty hard. There were a number of people coming in and out, so I'm not sure it's the safest place. The staff were nice but they seemed a bit overwhelmed.

We booked an aircon room but your only allowed to have it on from 9 till 9 to save power but they kept on coming in and turning it off at 6 in the morning. otherwise everything else was good. Good atmosphere. Met heaps of awesome people had 4 crazy nights:)

Cool place, make sure you get a room with aircon. I assumed they all had it.

Nice hostel with excellent kitchen but no aircon.

I found the rooms to be unbearably hot and the toilets were very dirty. It's very noisy at night but given it's a party hostel I won't mark them down for that. I also booked a city tour at the front desk and it was in Spanish. The staff were very apologetic and provided a refund but it ruined any chance I had of learning about the city before I had to leave. There's far better hostels out there.

Great party hostel with great atmosphere, we arrived on wednesday and the rooftop party was very good !

Sweet hostel, super clean! Perfect location

No party hostel at all, the nice terrace is always empty. had the wirdest situation with their staff in one year of travelling. the mexican girl should defenetly be fired!

A party hostel so is good if you want to have some drinks and meet some people but often can come across as a big lacking in other areas, kitchen is nice and nice air conditioned computer room, also has tours that can be booked although a bit more pricey than they should be.

Good hostel to stay in, good atmosphere and great roof top bar. Downsides- some of the staff are fairly useless and don't know answers to your questions and no air con in the rooms which in this heat is fairly hard to sleep in.

Great hostel with swimming pool, good WiFi and party!

Good location and potential for good atmosphere, however the staff receptionist (mainly female Mexican receptionist) is very rude and makes all people feel unwelcome and that she is doing you a favour to stay there even when you've booked and paid deposit. Many of the people who stayed there complained about this and I hope Media Luna take this seriously as it has put me off wanting to stay there again in the future.

Wednesday night party that they are famous for was very disappointing

Best hostel to meet people and have a nice party night.

Media Luna is a PARTY hostel- for very young folks. The kids at the bar upstairs looked around 15-18 years old, with the occasional young 20s. Partied loudly until 4 am- if this is what you are looking for, good spot- but if you need to sleep at all before 4 am, bring ear plugs or find somewhere else!

No air con in the dorms, despite the price No hot water. Once the cleaning staff closed both bathroom at the same time for cleaning and they take forever. One morning none of the computers were working. its nearly impossible to sleep due to the noise in the bar.
