Great common area, has a pool also. Big kitchen. Showers are average. Good place to stay

i stayed here for a week with four of my girlfriends. Our intentions were to party so we made sure we were at the Wednesday night party. It was really good. One of the few hostels with a pool but its not that clean. The staff and guests are all really friendly. Noisy nights, but I don't mind. Helpful when it comes to information about activities. The kitchen is clean and so are the communal bathrooms. Our room was VERY hot and damp even with the ceiling fan on all day.

Staff not welcoming at all, and rude at some points. Was a very loud hostel. Bathrooms were rarely clean and the shower didn't have any pressure. Would definitely not recommend or stay there again.

Media Luna is a great place for the party on Wednesday nights, but you can get into the party even if you aren't a guest anyway. If you get a non air conditioned room then it is very uncomfortable. Expect a lot of noise. Met some cool people. Air con rooms are a bit more expensive

The hostel is definitely not like the photos on the web site. The rooms are hot, dirty, noise and only have one power socket. Otherwise, the location is amazing and the staff is lovely :)

Probably the worst hostel we stayed in. No real atmosphere in the place. The staff take up most of the kitchen during the day cooking their own food. The kitchen itself is the worst equipped one we have seen yet. None of the pots or pans had handles and very little utensils. The staff gave us three different stories when we asked about the mud volcano and were very short and not very helpful. Wouldn't recommend it unless you were totally stuck.

Considering the hostel holds a reputation as a "party hostel", we were quite disappointed as the roof bar and common areas were closed ridiculously early making it quite a challenge to have a good night without leaving the premise. The main issue was the shower facilities which would often back up forcing you to do a dance while showering to avoid the bits coming out of the drains and endless hairballs.

Great place to stay. Most of the staff very friendly. The hostel is nicely fitted in an mansion. Nice vibe. I would just mention about the toilets. I guess the shower rooms could have a bit more of attention from maintenance. The rest is all very goo!

Excellent outdoor area with pool and large rooms!

This place lives upto its reputation as a party place. The Wednesday party was really cool, but you don't need to stay here to go. No locks on the door was a bit of a problem. You have to ask reception to turn on ur a/c. There's a guy who comes round and turns off the a/c at 6am. You need it to sleep! Also people stayed up every night by the pool (all the rooms are around the pool) making noise which kept everyone up. The staff didn't mind. Stay at a better hostel and just go to their party!

Great Atmosphere! even though the manager was a bit incompetent, in terms of organizing the place after a night out, and cleaning up.... it was made an awesome place by the people that stayed there!

Everyone bangs on about this hostel but really there are a lot better places to stay. If you are a party person on a four day bender during your time in Cartagena then this is a good place for you. Music in the common area is aloud to be played loud until the earlier hours of the morning which echo's through all the rooms. Its a very hot hostel and could do with a lot more fans through out each of the dorms. I would choose another hostel. This place is over priced for what you actually get.

One of the bigger hostels. It's in the heart of the city, you can reach a lot of sights and options to eat by feet, but the hot spots require a bus or taxi. Friendly english speaking staff that tries to handle all your requests. The atmosphere is for relaxing and partying everyday. They offer a lot of tours so you can easy stay a week. Really cool is the option to sail to Panama. Of course it takes more days and money! I tried out flyboarding (80€) and its a new religion to me ;)

If you want to have a proper rest after a long trip, just know that it's not the right place. The hostal is quite big and loudy, people are partying all night and don't care much about their co-host that want to rest. Apart to that, place is nice, good ambient, pool dirty :)

I met some great friends at Media Luna, we all traipsed off to do the mud bath in the volcano and spent our time floating and drinking beer in the pool. The rooftop parties were amazing, the pool a life savior in the heat of Cartagena, and the security great on nights they opened the roof to the public . I'm a freak for heat, but Cartagena is HOT! Splurge for aircon here, cos there aren't enough fans in the rooms - or take a top bunk to be closer! Everything's clean and the staff are helpful x

Great vibe and location. The Wednesday night party in the hostel was a highlight. The only issue was the heat...make sure you book a room with air conditioning! In Cartagena air conditioning is a necessity not a luxury.

This is an excellent party hostel, so it probably makes sense to only stay there if you're looking to party pretty hard. There were a number of people coming in and out, so I'm not sure it's the safest place. The staff were nice but they seemed a bit overwhelmed.

We booked an aircon room but your only allowed to have it on from 9 till 9 to save power but they kept on coming in and turning it off at 6 in the morning. otherwise everything else was good. Good atmosphere. Met heaps of awesome people had 4 crazy nights:)

Cool place, make sure you get a room with aircon. I assumed they all had it.
