This is a good hostel. If you don't like high bunks make sure you get in early as they have no barriers and are high! But staff were really helpful and friendly and it's clean. Also the Wednesday party's wicked up on the roof.

This is a party hostel, so if you want to go to bed early don't stay here. Music from the bar upstairs stays on till 3 am. The rooms are okay but the one i stayed in had a smell to it. The beds are comfortable, not enough outlets in the room and the lockers are small. There is no key to the rooms and sine the room is by the pool anyone can walk in to your room. There are only fans in the rooms so it can get pretty hot. The bathrooms were clean and staff were helpful.

Great party on Wednesdays! One important remark however is that Media Luna bracelets were being sold for 5000COP on the street, granting anyone access to the hostel('s unlocked dorm rooms)

Media Luna is an okay hostel if not for a few things. The people at reception aren't the most helpful, in fact some are rude. If you're planning on attempting to get any sleep at all book elsewhere- they blast music until 3am every night making it nearly impossible. If I visit Cartagena again I'll definitely book elsewhere.

Omg... This hostel was such a headache to me. I've been traveling through south America for 8 months and this hostel is BY FAR the WORST! Rooms: no outlets, only 2!!!! Everything in the room is so dirty and so nasty, it looks like an abandoned house. Small lockers. Wifi is awful. No breakfast. Expensive hostel. Disgusting swimming pool. The staff was awful by the way. Bathroom ALWAYS dirty, clogged, smelly and disgusting. I mean...just go to el viajero.

Change staff and improve the quality of the facilities. Definetely install air conditioner in the rooms, it's freaking hot in there!

The staff are fantastic and the layout of the place is great. The area is full of bars and restaurants so you won't need to go far for much of anything. Two complaints: the shared shower was crappy--in order to actually shower, you have to almost stand against the wall...I ended up washing my hair in the sink. And there's only one plug in the 6 person dorm, which kinda sucks. But those are minor things and the vibe there is great and again, the staff are really cool.

Paid for the room for 2 nights but ended up going to a hostel across the road! Dorm room smelled & was dirty - was given two top bunks but felt v unhappy so moved.

Terrible hostel. Overpriced and is known for a party hostel however they have no communal area and they have an awesome bar and rooftop area except your never allowed up there! The dorms suck, I would definitely stay somewhere else and only go to Media Luna for their rooftop party on a wednesday. Biggest let down of a hostel in all of South America.

Great common area, has a pool also. Big kitchen. Showers are average. Good place to stay

i stayed here for a week with four of my girlfriends. Our intentions were to party so we made sure we were at the Wednesday night party. It was really good. One of the few hostels with a pool but its not that clean. The staff and guests are all really friendly. Noisy nights, but I don't mind. Helpful when it comes to information about activities. The kitchen is clean and so are the communal bathrooms. Our room was VERY hot and damp even with the ceiling fan on all day.

The hostel have a good structure, but they also have the worst reception throughout Colombia! They couldn't indicate a restaurant or anything else. They really dont care about there guests.

Staff not welcoming at all, and rude at some points. Was a very loud hostel. Bathrooms were rarely clean and the shower didn't have any pressure. Would definitely not recommend or stay there again.

Media Luna is a great place for the party on Wednesday nights, but you can get into the party even if you aren't a guest anyway. If you get a non air conditioned room then it is very uncomfortable. Expect a lot of noise. Met some cool people. Air con rooms are a bit more expensive

The hostel is definitely not like the photos on the web site. The rooms are hot, dirty, noise and only have one power socket. Otherwise, the location is amazing and the staff is lovely :)

Fun party hostel, good atmosphere. A but overpriced compared to other hostels, a room with air conditioning is about 35,000 pesos. Which I'd be okay with except they shut the ac off WAY too early. Like 6am. Cartagena is the hottest, most humid miserable place I've ever been to. Humidity is usually at 90%. So basically that means that once the across is turned off, you will wake up in a pool of your own sweat. You NEED ac in Cartagena, I'd rate higher if they kept it in til 10 like most hostels

Probably the worst hostel we stayed in. No real atmosphere in the place. The staff take up most of the kitchen during the day cooking their own food. The kitchen itself is the worst equipped one we have seen yet. None of the pots or pans had handles and very little utensils. The staff gave us three different stories when we asked about the mud volcano and were very short and not very helpful. Wouldn't recommend it unless you were totally stuck.
