The management of this hostel leaves a lot to be desired. Closing the bathrooms for cleaning at 9am when check-out is 10am, closing the kitchen for cleaning at 1pm and the whole place is still unclean. The staff were not well trained and this lead to me losing a full night's accommodation and the money that went with it. This hostel has a great atmosphere and location, really let down by its staff and management.

Don't have many positive things to say about the place; the rooms were dirty with cockroaches everywhere (including a month backpacking in thailand it was it was the dirtiest room I've slept in), beds were sht, the staff did the bare minimum to accommodate guests. It is a good place to meet other travellers tho

Damp! The room smelt horrible. The room was so damp the bed felt wet and you could actually see the water on the walls if I was there any longer then 1 night I would have moved. The pool/bar area is ok & location is good. The rooms are definately too expensive though.

Great location but if you aren't into partying this hostel is not for you!!! Some of the staff were helpful, others not so much. I stayed at the Youth Shack as well and although they still partied every night you didn't hear it in the rooms!!

The customer service here is non exisistant. Staff really do need to learn not to be so rude, lazy...and obnoxious!! A smile once in a while wont hurt anybody. Beds are terrible, and rooms are badly insulated...(don't turn the aircon down, as within minutes your room will be flooded...and most of you clothing and bedding will be damp) Best thing about this place is the water dispenser by the kitchen....

Really helpful staff, however there were no lockers in our mixed room, and as such, security of your belongings is somewhat lacking. Room was very dark and could also do with better lighting.

Thank you for your review, Sanrdra! We are just a bit confused by you saying there were no lockers... we have just gone up and checked the room you stayed in and there are four perfectly working lockers? Anyway, we hope you enjoy the rest of your trip around Australia!

Well located hostel, with a nice terrace and swimming pool. But wifi is only on the ground floor, you don't have it on the terrace. And the kitchen is a mess,I've never seen one so dirty,it seems like it's never cleaned and people are not educated about it!They should do something about it.Last thing, they tell to recycle but there are no garbages to do so for the paper or the bottles...

Shower and toilette area require some maintenance operations. Room floor always wet becouse of air conditioner not working corretly. Some showers without hot water.

I really liked this hostel. The bar and the poor were fun, the rooms were clean and Willougby (spelling!) On reception was a real gent. There is a lovely lizard in the reception in a tank called Morpheous and he is as happy as anyone in the hostel :)

Great place! Well located! Nice staff and people around! Party atmosphere if you want, you can be on your own as well. Just a few bugs, but could be from all the rubbish my roomie had on the floor...

We stayed in a dorm the nights before and after our tour to Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. The beds with the plastic mattresses were one of the most uncomfortable ones we experienced during our half year in Australia and the cleanliness of the bathrooms was rather poor. Other than that, the location in the middle of Darwin is great and the staff was also friendly.

There was mold growing on the ceiling in the bedroom. Air conditioner worked but the buttons to change the temperature were broken. We booked a standard double bed, but got a double bed with single bunk bed on top.

Might fit for groups, but I wouldn't recommend this hostel for lonely travelers. It is a party atmosphere, ideal to drink and swim in the pool, not really to rest. Around 100 rooms, imagine the number of young people making noise...
