Melbourne Central YHA is an exciting new backpackers' hostel in Melbourne's vibrant CBD - close to all of Melbourne's best events including The Spring Racing Carnival, summer festivals, the Grand Prix and Australian Open Tennis. Plus we're within walking distance to Yarra River, Federation Square, ACMI and Melbourne Aquarium.

We have a wide range of rooms to choose from, including 3-, 4- and 6-bed dorms, twin/doubles with the option for en suite, plus some very special private rooms with ornate balconies overlooking Flinders Street.

Hostel facilities include a tour desk for local and interstate travel plus a high-speed YHAConnect Internet Cafe with Skype, Wi-Fi throughout the hostel, flat-screen TVs and electronic door locks.

There's free hostel activities for all guests, including walking tours of Melbourne, pub excursions and BBQs. Ask reception for more details when you check in!

The hostel has an eclectic bar on the ground floor which serves tasty affordable meals plus coffees, cocktails and a range of beers. It's got great deals for YHA guests including 2-for-1 meal deals most days of the week!

Our hostel is ideally located close to public transport, making it easy to get around the city. We're only 900m from Southern Cross Station - Melbourne's main arrival point for regional and interstate buses, trains and airport shuttle buses.

There's a free 'city circle' tram that operates in the CBD with a stop directly in front of the hostel - now that's convenience! A free Melbourne City Tourist Shuttle bus also operates in the CBD and the closest stop is just 5 minutes' walk from here.
