I would not recommend this hostel. First because there is no particular places to meet people, no lounge, no big kitchen or cinema/tv room. Secondly, I have been bitten by fleas on the first night, and I have been scratching my legs and arms for the past 6 days! I know they have been spraying all rooms since then, but this is one of the first things you would like to avoid in a hostel! Finally, the rooms are quite small compared to other hostels such as Adelaide and Sydney YHA Centrals.I would not recommend this hostel. This seems to be a new building. The location is good. A little walk to the center. It's quite noisy though. So, bring your earplugs and you're fine.This seems to be a new building. Very new hostel, and very clean, nice facilities but quite segregated - each floor has its own common room and kitchen so not much socialising. Nice bar downstairs, cheap pizzas. Clean bathrooms, but water never very warm, perhaps to stop people taking such long showers to save water? Good sized dorms, one thing that would improve them would be a small shelf on the top bunk as once you're up there you have no-where to put your stuff. A very clean and nice quiet place to stay and perfect for those who simply wish to explore melbourne. Tram stop directly outside,within 2min walk of southern cross station and directly opposite the crown casino makes it very simple to get around. However if you are looking for a backpackers were you can meet people and go out for a good time this is probably not the place you want and the one major downpoint is that there is no such as hot water in this place....luke warm showers A very clean and nice quiet place to stay and perfect for those who simply wish to explore melbourne. Excellent hostel, even by YHA standards, and the perfect location for arriving and departing Melbourne. $25 discount on selected backpacker tours was great! I liked being able to top-up my internet credit online with a credit card at any time. However it had a downstairs bar which pumped out loud music on a Saturday night, and with my room being directly above it the vibrating bass sound was a bit annoying. I was able to fall asleep after a while so it wasn\'t that bad. The hostel is brand new, so it's very clean. But there are not really good common areas so meeting people is difficult. Also, the kitchen is very small and only consists of a couple of hot plates and a microwave, making cooking very difficult. If you're looking for a hostel that is more like a hotel, then this is perfect. But if you're an independent traveler looking to meet people, then this isn't the best.The hostel is brand new, so it's very clean. found the hostel excellent! Great location, and especially easy to get to/from it from the airport which was very handy! Was annoying only having access to 2 computers as they were split between floors, would have been better to have a grouping on one floor accessible to all to increase your chance of getting access to one. lovely decor, very trendy and fantastic that the largest room size was 6 people! Very impressed overall!!found the hostel excellent! Great location, and especially easy to get to/from it from the airport which was very handy! Tell your staff to perhaps be at the reception desk and be ready to check people in at 10pm rather than locking the place up and not being available.
