The shared shower was very low in pressure which was unconfortable to use. Hot water also took a while to come as a result when starting the shower.

The window in our room was not clean including bird droppings. It was still like that when we returned 5 days later. The shared bathroom had a tap that couldn't be turned off. The bathroom/toilet was in need of upgrade even for a backpackers type accommodation. There were dead flies on the window sills in the kitchen, one mug only in the tea/coffee facility in the lounge; we were served orange juice at breakfast 17th that was off and which was replaced by the staff member when we complained.

Took over 3 mins for the hot water to come through in the shower and in the bedroom sink. Also the sink went through about a minute of rusty water before clearing up. The fan in the shower was noisy, old and seeing as it was directly over the shower not a comforting thing to turn on. Breakfast was lovely, albeit not for coeliacs! Also louvre windows in winter are a bit cold and do not keep noise of returning drunks out. Lovely and private hostel. Thanks Melbourne House.
