My only complaint is that the hostel isn't close to the city center or a place to buy things like toothpaste, etc . . . Staff was great, the crowd was enjoyable and I'd stay here again.

This is a nice hostel, in has a really cheap restaurant as part of it, rooftop is very nice. The crowd here is really a mix 60 somethings to families with kids. Not very fun to socialize or hang out, and a bit farther away from the central downtown than other options. Very close to Victoria Market though.

Its a YHA so it has better than usual facilities and its quite clean for the most part. However it is also large and impersonal and lacking character and its tough to meet other people. Its just around the Queen Victoria Market which is nice and the area of town is pretty good and the tram is only about a 5 min walk away.

A nice youth hostel. The staff were really friendly and the kitchen staff did top tucker. Not the friendliest of backpackers but staff made up for it. A great list of activities and travel advice offered by staff and a roof top view to die for!

Metal bed-frames (yay no bed-bugs), lockers in rooms, card-swipe doors, big shared bathrooms with plenty of showers, showers stainless steel (v clean), shower cubicles have partition between shower and area to put clothes etc (so clothes stay dry, yay) and wooden mat-thing to keep feet dry when changing. Overall v clean. Close to Victoria Markets, walking distance to city unless you're lazy like me in which case it's only a few trams stops to collins or bourke. all in all, thumbs u

Walls are thin and you hear everybody who walks and talks in the hallway.
