Good place to stay, very safe with keycard entry. Was a little worried as we arrived at 1am (had told staff we would arrive at this time prior to arrival) and rang the bell three times and still no answer. When staff did arrive they apologised for not responding sooner.

Melon District is a really good base for a short stay in Barcelona, we were in room 601 and it wasn't small at all apart from the shower room, it was a lovely surprise, really clean and you get towels provided! The wifi works really well and is free which is a real bonus. Its not a busy hostel where you have the chance to meet lots of people though. The area of Poble Sec is fine, theres a road that leads straight to La Ramblas and takes about 15 minutes.

We had a lovely stay at MelonDistrict, staff was very friendly and we felt more than welcome. A few things we'd recommend: the kitchen had few facilities; microwave wasn't working, no cuttingboards, cleaning stuff etc. Our fridgedepartment was very dirty and the light in kitchen/room wasn't very cosy, just TL lights. But the room was clean, nice bed, just enough space and a perfect location. Also the help of staff and possibilities (printing, leaving bags etc) were great.

They moved us from Melon District Pobble Sec to Melon District Marina when we arrived. This was due to maintenance problems. This was quite inconvenient for us since the location for Pobble Sec was nicer and it was such a hassle to move to the Marina. We arrived late at night and were very tired, but then had to go to the other hotel. They did organise a cab for us and the staff at Pobble Sec is very friendly. However the staff at Marina is incompetent and unfriendly. Took 1 hour to check us in!

We didn´t really socialise much here on account of only staying for one night. This location is very much an up and coming area in the city with innovative cafes and bars allowing you to sample a more modern style of Barcelona. The hostel is extremelly comfortable, the staff are super helpful, the WiFi and free computers are lightning fast. Really enjoyed staying here.
