Liked the place. Make sure the showers are clean and the equipment is functioning ok. The breakfast could use some variation.

Ahmed and his team were just great, very friendly and extremely helpful. I saw everything I need to see in Cairo and wonderful trip to Loxur & Aswan.helped me book the rest of my Egyptian tour. The prices that they can get are fair better than anything you can get on line. I felt so safe and relaxed and enjoyed,I will come back to Egypt, defiantly staying at Meramees.

One of the top choices in Cairo (I\'ve been to many hostels here). They worked with me when I arrived two days late. The included air conditioning and wifi also make it a very good deal.

I want to thank the incredible staff at Meramees-hostel for a memorable stay in Cairo. Although I\'ve been travelling alone, I\'ve felt safe and welcomed throughout my stay in Egypt and the people at Meramees certainly paid a big part in that. The location of the hostel is also excellent and the staff is more than willing to help with anything from booking a trip to the pyramids to buying a local sim-card or smoking a shisha at night :) Fully recommended and whenever I\'m back to Egypt I\'ll most likely s

Despite a somewhat tumultuous stay in Egypt, our time at Meramees was absolutely amazing. Everyone working there went out of their way to help us and they were all extremely understanding of the fact that we had had a difficult time. We organized our tour of Giza, Dashur, and Saqqara through them and were extremely happy with it (it was a very fair price and our cab driver was excellent). I am uncertain that I will come back to Egypt, but if I do I will absolutely stay at Meramees.

My stay in Egypt was not very pleasant yet Meramees hotel provided a safe haven. My friends and I felt very welcomed and at home. Their hospitality was impeccable and they understand the needs of tourists coming to visit Egypts great wonders. They provide great assistance not forgetting to treat you with a smile :) I would recommend this hostel.

The 'management' felt less like what that, and more like a group of friends that were willing to take you around town, talk with you, help you with you itinerary and generally be available for most of your needs. I feel like I walked away from the whole experience with some new friends. Thanks guys!!!

The guys were wonderful in the hostel, helpful, and very professional. They help me plan my week long activities to the best of their ability and I really enjoyed being there. I look forward to returning. Thanks so much. Dona Clark, single woman traveler.

The rooms were clean and the rate was pretty good. Not much of a breakfast but for the price I wasn't expecting much. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. My only gripe is to stay away from their package tour of the pyramids. They set you up with a driver who is more interested in bringing you to his sponsor stores that sell overpriced cheap jewelry, papyrus paintings, and then an expensive camel ride through Giza. All of these locations put very high pressure to buy their junk.

Forget your previous concepts once you come to Egypt. The hostel is remarkable well located. Close to subway, shops... The staff is helpful. Trustful. But u must remember the difference between mostly christian First World Europe. And muslim north Africa. Rates are not the same. Go to Egypt and compare.

Best hostel in Egypt bar none! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They helped us plan our entire trip, and on my birthday they sang and danced for me and bought the most delicious cake! The atmosphere was superb! When I come back to Egypt I will be staying at the Meramees!

The guys there were great. Very helpful, and not pushy about tours, etc., though they did offer a good value tour that I took. The place is really dingy and quite dirty though. Not sure if I would stay there again. Good price, location and staff, but dreary atmosphere.

I had a very short stay in Cairo, but the guys at Meramees helped me make the most of it. Achmed (the driver) picked me up at the airport and helped me get around town. Location was great, the Egyptian Museum was an easy 5 minute walk. Room and bathroom were spotless with plenty of hot water.

Very friendly, but very cold and the rooms very poorly furnitured - no lamps to read, just one possibility to switch off the light besides the door far from the bed. no possibility to hang up the coat or jacket or towel, perfect internet.
