Meramees was wonderful. Clean with sheets and blankets provided, breakfast too! This hostel was the perfect place to stay, whether you have plans or not. If you have your trip mapped out - great! It's in a good location. Have no idea what you're doing? Great! The wonderfully friendly staff helped us plan an amazing trip!! Without them I think we wouldn't been completely lost, but because of them we had a great time at the pyramids, in Luxor and it was so easy to get around! Thanks Meramees!

Great location, easy to find. Staffs are nice. And bus 356 to the Airport is just between Egypt museum and Hilton.

Very clean rooms and friendly service. I felt taken care of my entire stay at Meramees. They arrange tours according to your needs and hooked me up with an awesome guide in Luxor. The staff is willing to go the distance to make sure you have a pleasant stay in Cairo. Highly recommended. PS Cairo is a safe city ! Don't let what you see on the news fool you !

The staff were really friendly and helpful and helped us organise a brilliant trip to the pyramids which was amazing! The hostel is in a great location and good value for money and would thoroughly recommend it! we are also planning to return soon as we only live in Alexandria so it is a great base for us in Cairo. Could do with having another loo or two as there are only a couple of loo/shower rooms over the whole hostel. Although saying that they were always spotlessly clean. Staff were great and very accomodating. 24hr reception. Good price and the rooms are really full of character - high ceilings and wooden floors. Would definitely recommend it. Initially difficult to find as it is on the 5th and 6th floors, but location is central. Close to tahrir sq and a main metro station Sadat. Thumbs up. Meg

Positive:Easy to find the location;Elevator was helpful to go up the 5th & 6th floor (but not usable when coming down); Free breakfast consists of bread w/jam and butter, tea and orange juice.Too simple for me but I always finished everything. Negative:I wasn't happy with Cleanliness because the bedside tables in my room were covered with dust;Water pressure for shower was not high enough;They don't offer you mosquito repellant. Take the spray or lotion with you otherwise you will get bitten.

The owners are really helpfull and obliging for everything! And the residents came from evrywhere... It's a very good place to stay, almost the best in Cairo Downtown

Thankyou so much to Meramees for a great stay in Egypt. The staff areso friendly and a lot of fun. They organised everything for me. if possible ask for Hosney to be your driver....The day i spent with him gave mne the greatest travel experience ive had and i cant thank him enough. Also say hi to the doorman..he is a great fella

Pretty good hostel and very helpful staff. It would be nice if some of the staff did not try to sell deals to the customers on an over committed basis, just show the deals and let the customer decide!

watch out for these guys - they'll have you laughing a lot! the hostel is simple and basic, but all you need. it's the staff that make the place! Mostafa X2, Ahmed and Sharief are fantastically helpful and friendly and will tell you everything you need to know and help you organise tours to other parts of Egypt as well. Great place to stay!

I liked this place so much the first time around I decided to come back. It's probably the best budget option you'll find in Cairo. The guys really take care of you and help you find your feet in this mesmerizing city. I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks guys.

What a superb place to stay in Cairo! Not only were the staff extremely helpful and friendly, they made sure I was completely satisfied and helped me organize my trip through the rest of Egypt. They were definitely the highlight, so much so that I chose to come back at the end of my 2 weeks traveling around the country. The location is also great, just a stones throw away from Tahrir Square and the Nile. The rooms are good and clean. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cairo. Thanks guys!
