Great banana pancakes for breakfast. A staff member double booked our room so we had to move which was a shame but the staff were really professional and booked us a taxi and a room at their other hostel. We then booked a bus to Colca canyon through the other hostel which was an hour late and the lady working the night shift kindly spent ages on the phone trying to sort it out for us. Location was a bit out of the way but otherwise a good hostel.

This hotel is excellent for any kind of person because it has a nice staff and it is very comfortable. I also can say that the breakfast is delicious and it is included in your payment.

I stayed at this hostel for a week when in Arequipa and absolutely loved it. Alex and his family were so kind and friendly. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile and a map and description of the town. Breakfasts are great too and the banana pancake will fill you up for the rest of the day. Tours can be booked on site. Highly recommend this place and would definitely go back.

I had a lovely time here - I booked two days and ended up staying longer because it was so enjoyable. The family who runs the hostel are friendly and helpful, with a delicious breakfast in the morning. It's in an old historic area of the city, San Lazaro, only an 8 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas but far enough away that you don't get blasted by traffic and nightclub music at night. Also the cleanest hostel I've stayed in in South America. I would definitely stay here again!

Great location 10 min safe walk to main square. Good wifi, great breakfast (glass of juice would finish it off), but better than most hostels. Roof top terrace good place to relax. Staff friendly, helpful and have good English. Kitchen basic but you can cook simple dishes on hobs. Big comfortable rooms. Hot water most of the time. Noise travels, but doesn't attract the party crowd so not much of an issue. Highly recommended.

We travel as a couple and stayed in double room bathl for 7 nights. We would definitely recommend it. The hostel is clean, kitchen equipped well, big common room with computer, pool table and ping pong. Internet was ok, accessible from the room. The Banaba pancake for breakfast was indeed amazing. Hostel owner also has trips available to choose from. We did two trips with them. Both are reasonable price. Hostel location is not in the center center but its quiet and that is what we like about.

Located 10 mins by foot from thPlaza de Armas, this comfy hostel is just enough out of the hustle & bustle to be quiet & peaceful, while still an easy stroll from all the action. The staff is accommodating & sweet, a family who clearly take pride in making guests feel at home and cared for. They always remembered my name and never balked at letting me in late :) Banana pancakes are an amazing treat! Decor's a bit retro, but clean & comfortable w/ample & diverse common areas.. Big thumbs up!!

It does not look like a nice place from the outside. But once you enter there are clean room, really friendly staff and all you wish for in a good hostel. The internet is amazing and the place itself is cheap. Perfect place to stay when you are on a budget.

Stayed in a dorm room, good value, but had no curtain or cover for a glass door so was really bright in the mornings! No where to keep valuables in the room but did have a locked room for bags whilst waiting for buses/planes etc. breakfasts were great and it's only about 10-15 min walk from the centre.

Good safe location, friendly staff. Pancakes for breakfast are good. Not exactly 'amazing' - it's a bit tired & rundown & not the best atmosphere for meeting people. Computer is ancient & slow, but the wifi was good. Showers not always hot. Rooms facing the square can get a little noisy - seems to be a teenage hangout. Still for the price it is a pretty good hostel. They offer some good tours - we didn't actually use them as I prefer to go direct to the source.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Thanks for your comments, we are now in low season and That is why there are not many people, but now there is normal and sufficient, but this is usually in arequipa this month but now the hostel is completely renovated with all nearly new, sometimes there are people in the street makes noise but not always we are a hostel and also a tour operator direct this hostel is run by a tour guide for more than 10 years experience

The price is a little high for peru, but decent hostel on a nice square, with the possibilities to play pool, pingpong and organise tours.

nice hostel, good location, shame there is no bar!

Very good banana pancake breakfast and coffee for free. Room was clean but ensure bathroom had a funky odor consistently. Located on a quiet square making it good for sleeping. Close walk to main plaza. Fridge at hostel never once was stocked with beer or water which was an issue, good thing shops were close by.staff friendly and helped wherever they could. No bar or social scene, low key place.

This hostel was adequate for our needs, we returned for a second day after Colca Canyon. It may be due to the season but there was not much atmosphere. Bathrooms

Everything went god during my stay at Arequipa Amazing hostel. The hostel is located in a small and quiet square and only a few blocks from the Plaza de Armas. The twin room was very large and fully furnitured. Hot water 24h, nice terrace and delicious breakfast with pancakes. Staff incredibly helpful and nice. The only complain is about the reeking sewer. I would definitely stay there again.

Great hostel to stay in arrequipa. Spotlessly clean and staff were all fantastic to try and help out with any questions. Tour booking on site was great as made it easy to plan. Pancake breakfast was great change and certainly filled you up! Only downside was not great for meeting people, could have been that hostel was quiet or maybe that's just how it rolls there! And one other prob was they ran out of beer on a sat night! Def recommend staying here tho as one of the best hostels so far!

Very nice and familiar hostel, and one of the hostels with the nicest stuff I've ever visited. 7min walk to the plaza de armas. Very clead, has hot showers, PC spaces and very comfortable beds. The breakfast consits of pancake with banana or scrambled eggs, which is a pretty nice alternative to the toast and jam you find elsewhere. The Colca canyon tours you can book there are about 30S more expensive than in the agencies although I can't compare the quality.
