The two-storey, ten rooms Villa Merry No. I is located in the Nam Khan riverside area, amongst a group of bars, restaurants and new galleries at the Khan River. Being in the city center means 8-minute walk takes you to the evening craft market, the Royal Palace Museum and major Buddhist temples. The Guest house is a 10-minute taxi drive from the airport.
The Merry Guest House No. 1 is a family operated Guest House sitting at the Khan River, of which the seven Guest house's rooms have an exceptional view to the Khan River and Elephant mountain. 8 -minute walk from the Guest House takes you to the center of town where you will find many unique and interesting bars and restaurants. All of the rooms have private toilet with hot shower, Mini bar, cable TV, Wardrobe, Air-condition and Table and chair. The Merry Guest House is locally owned and the owner/manager is fluent in English and German.

Facilities Description:
Opened in February 2002, the Merry Guest House is a small family operated boutique Guest house offering travelers from around the world a warm welcome. The building, constructed in 1999, was originally a Lao Style House. Located at the Khan River and close to the city centre, the Guest House is a perfect starting point for touring the city.
In May 2008 the owner has renovated the Guest house and upgrade it also travelers seeking more Relax than found at a traditional guesthouse, the Merry Guest House is an ideal alternative. The Guest House's staff is all family member more than happy to help plan tour and sight seeing.

Host Background information:
After 7 years of Business Management education in Germany and a career in the construction business - accounting and cost control - Samoraphouma returned to Laos in 1996 and started a company called 'Lao-German Co. Ltd'. Soon after 2001, he opened three guesthouses - Merry 1, Merry 2 and Merry 3. Because of his strong interest in the guest house business, Samoraphouma opened 'Villa Merry Lao-Swiss' in 2005. Samoraphouma offers all his guests a wonderful brand of individual hospitality and service with a friendly attitude.
