Metropolis Hostel Reviews

Metropolis is a great little hostel in a superb location in sultanahmet. Its just behind the main road of bars, restaurants ( metropolis restaurant is on the main street too and you do get some discount) and hostels, so you can get involved in the local nightlife while the hostel maintains a chilled out feel. The rooms themselves are fine with nice comfy big beds. The hostel also boasts an amazing roof top seating area which doubles as the bar at night and breakfast area in the morning.

One of the best one we have stayed. Hostel has such a amazing location to all major place in istanbul. Two blocks away from subway. Hostel has a beautiful roof bar where everyone meet after long day. lt was the best experience for me to meet travelers from all around. Free breakfast was the best way to start a day. Overall, l had a blast time here.

l spent a few night at metropolis hostel and everything was great at this fantastic small hostel. Great position all major sights are just a minutes walk and just 5 mins walk to tram. lt was very comfortable and clean hostel at a very resaonable price. Free breakfast served at roof terrace was amazing with beautiful raising sun in the morning. WOW what a great start. Staff was very friendly too and very helpful with booking tours and giving directions.

Location is ideal. Our room was in need of some attention. Fittings either missing or falling from wall. Sheets had holes and towels threadbare but were replaced after complaint made. Breakfasts were good and view wonderful. Suits the younger backpacker but needs attention if its to cater for mature traveller as well

The rooms are a bit tiny, and the lockers are small. Nice rooftop terrace. At night the bathroom did not have any running water. The place was clean. I had breakfast. Decent.

After spending half a week at the Metropolis Hostel in Istanbul, you realize that all those 100% ratings that made you choose it over other hostels are FAKE ! They try to get money out of you with every occasion: their exchange rate is lower than even that offered at the airport and they do not display prices at the bar, so you end up paying 9 euros for a simple rum and coke! There is only one toilet and shower per floor and there are frequent water shortages. Staff is rude so stay away !

we had a pleasure stay at metropolis hostel. The room was very nice and location was just perfect to explore istanbul easy. Breakfast was really good and staff was very friendly and helpful with our needs. Highly recommended hostel if you are looking budget and good place to stay in istanbul.

Metropolis hostel is one of the most pleasant budget place l have ever stayed. The staff is very friendly and helpful with things. l really enjoyed the turkish breakfast of bread, watermelon, cheese, tomato, cucumber, egg, and free tea-coffee. All in all l had a great stay here.

Brilliant hostel and nothing bad to say about the stay. Location is perfect, very close to all main sights and subway. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and gave us everything we asked for. Nice clean rooms and beautiful roof bar and best breakfast you could get in a hostel. Lovely roof bar, had so much nice time in the morning and before sleeping. So many nice people to talk and share stories. l would definetely stay here and l will recommend to all friends.

Amazing hostel. Location is unbeatable. Rooms are very clean and tidy. Staff is very friendly and always around to help you with things. There are many restaurants and bar arounds. Also we had a great bbq party at roof bar and staff took us out for a pubcrawl. All in all we had amazing time and we were not disappointed with anything.

l would definitely recommend metropolis hostel to anyone visiting istanbul. Super nice and clean rooms and comfortable beds. Breakfasts were great and nice ladies working up there. Roof bar is a great place to hang out and meet fellow travelers and has stunning views. l would def stay here again.

Basic hostel with a great location. Nice, free breakfast to start the day. Enjoyed the terrace, though most places have one. The bad outweighs the good. People in the dorms share one bathroom, the rooms are small. The ceiling of our bathroom (above reception) was covered with mold. Can't say about the social events because I left before one was held. The staff could try to be more friendly. Do not recommend it. There are many hostels in the area (Sultanahmet) for about the same price.

The hostel is well located in the Sultanahmet and the place is clean and had all the facilities you would need. Just be careful when paying that you check the amount owing from your confirmation to what they quote you at the check in desk. They asked us to pay 200 turkish lira when we only owed 80, but when I pointed that out to him, he gave me the refund without question. Still not sure if it was an honest mistake or not but just be careful...

Metropolis hostel is a nice, clean, comfortable place with great facilities. Close to all major places and well run by 3 amazing brothers. They are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really good and roof bar is the best place to enjoy istanbul while you having a few beers and meeting fellow travellers.

Great roof terrace but the rooms are very crampt

What I loved:1.free breakfast and the 2 lovely ladies that served us tea and/or coffee every morning, 2.rooftop terrace, 3.great & safe location. What I absolutely HATED:1.the lies from the 96% rating that it has. I feel like the hostel has been posting up false reviews by pretending to be travelers cause every single girl in my dorm and I agreed that we felt lied to by the reviews, 2. dirty&moldy bathroom, 3.cramped rooms, 4. only 3 toilets&4 showers for the entire hostel.PICK ANOTHER HOSTEL!!

Great hostel to stay in istanbul. Lovely roof bar, super friendly staff and travelers. Rooms are very nice, clean and have air con. Bathrooms were always clean and had lots of hot water. The social atmosphere at metropolis hostel is the best. Everyone meet at roof bar after sightseing and sharing their stories. Bbq and belly dancing show was great. Free shisha and following pub crawl guided by hostel staff was also a great service. Highly recommended..

The Metropolis is a perfectly average hostel. We got a double bed private ensuite and the room was clean and overlooked the Bosphorus - which were great. We slept with the windows open because the weather was so great, but were awoke regularly by garbage trucks street noise. The staff was actually not very helpful. We booked a whirling dervish show and the guy said it was a 15 minute walk, but it was more like a 40 minute walk. We were super late.
