We stayed there during the Ultra Music Festival and the rates were three times as high. There are hostels that are closer to the beach. The common area with the bar and the kitchen are very nice. It creates the hostel atmosphere you are looking for and you get to know many fellow travelers. The free barbecue is a big plus and the burgers were delicious. There are 2 bathrooms for 12 people, which turned out not to be sufficient. I would recommend the hostel for it's ideal set up for socializing.

Nice place. Great staff. Good experience. Only complaints: my bunk bed felt like it was going to collapse and there were 4 bars of old dried up soap left on sink and no toilet paper in dorm bathroom. I stayed there a year ago and it was good enough for me to return.

The location is convenient with walkable decent (10-20 min) to beach and clubs and very nice cafe/shops in the same block (including a liquor shop literaly next door). Whole Food Market is on the next block, with The best food buffet I’ve experience in the US . Also, Easy access parking (15USD per 24h) next door. The hotel has good character and nice area to hang out/ chill out, with an decent hot tub and pool table. However, the room are small, no super clean, and it can get very hot inside.

I come to hostel first to meet people, second to save money. and there are very few activities organized at the hostel, and the staff are not that inviting to tell you about things and activities in the hostel. They operate it more as a cheap stay place than a socializing spot. At first I thought it would be a good idea to explore west side of South Beach. But it was a mistake, since there's nothing much around the hostel. Everything you do, you need to go to the east side.

LOVED IT! Great place to stay if you want to meet new people! The common area is cool and people hang out there at all hours of the day. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and the kitchen is organized and clean. The rooms are typical hostel rooms with nice big lockers and a bathroom that is kept pretty clean. I had A LOT of fun at Miami Hostel and would ABSOLUTELY stay there again!! (Only note: we had some trouble with parking, so if you bring a car choose parking wisely)

The hostel had a great location to all the things i wanted during my trip. The only down side was the lack of plugs in the rooms. The kitchen area accomedated for this but when you're not in a social mood this isn't the best. However the staff were welcoming and friendly. The hostel might want to check on its wifi because it kept cutting out for downstairs. Also it was a shame the hot tub wasn't working. But overall good trip and good stay

The hostel is facilated. Location is a 15min to beach and not so popular. But bus access is convenient esp to downtown. Kitchen and dining space are good. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Do not forget abt saturday bbq burger that is taste so good. Value for money. Had a pleasant stay. Just that too cold in the room. Free bagel with creamcheese is a bonus. Free wifi Internet need to be improved, too slow. Rate 4.5/5

Damp smell in the room. Self cleaning by guests makes it hard to regulate consistent cleanliness of the room. Smokers everywhere in this hostel. Although rooms are non smoking but room entrance are next to common smoking areas. Squeaky beds. Need some oil!!

This place was a lot of fun. The staff was very nice. The location would only have been more perfect if it were right on Ocean Dr. It was actually quiet on Alton Rd though so actually that was better. The set up was simple yet perfect. It's centralized common area encouraged interaction by the guests, party hostel in the best way!! I loved the hot tub!!! The rooms were clean . I fell in the shower so be careful. They need to get shower mats for us middle aged folk to use if we choose to.

The staff was really helpful, the hostel is well located, close to the Art Deco district... Only bad thing; we just had one bathroom for 12 people.

No hot water past 8pm. The bathroom became a swimming pool after 4 showers in a row (though it might be the girls who were not paying attention!) Staff very feiendly and helpful with any request (extra blanket, help to book trips).
