Midas Resort Reviews

This is an excellent hotel to stay at in San Ignacio. It is very close to the town centre and the restaurants and bars are more than walkable. This isn't really what I would describe as a hotel though, there are no communal rooms and you pay for a full room so in that way it is more like a hotel, so perhaps not ideal if you like to meet new people and socialise. That said it has an outdoor swimming pool and bar but this appears to be unfinished and half built but still nice enough for the money

We stayed here two nights - loved the cabanas. They have lots of character. Pool and poolside bar are great. Could use better service - bartender was rude and wouldn't speak beyond telling how much to pay him. This place is obviously adding on and is a great place to spend a few days. We were able to book ATM cave the night before with no problem. Wifi is good except in cabanas. Be forewarned - lizards everywhere. We even had one in our shower. Aside from that, great value at Midas.

I reserved HostelWorld advertised deluxe 4 bed unit for our church men's group. When we arrived we were shown to a non-deluxe 3 bed unit which was totally inappropriate. The front office would not accept any responsibility. They had not answered two emails stating that 4 beds were necessary and if there was a problem to just book us into the family unit, still available on HostelWorld (as well as the non-existent deluxe 4 bed unit.) In the end we got accommodated. Get your act together HWorld.

The price shown on Hostel Bookers is without Tax. I pointed this out and they gave me the price quoted on this site. Good location and lovely place.

Great place to stay in San Iganacio. Not far away from the town center, but you feel far away from your troubles. Great pool and bar. Wonderful and professional staff, doing what they can to make sure that you're getting the most for your money. Took a horseback ride to Xunantunich, and it was an experience I will not soon forget!

This was a great place to stay in San Ignacio. The Proprietor and all the employees were friendly and very helpful. They recently had a new Pool put in along with a bar on premise. Normally i would say "what is there a pool doing in the middle of the jungle... shouldnt we be out exploring?" But, i will eat my words because having a little bit of luxury on a Jungle expedition makes all the difference. Beautiful Jungle Scenery, Good accomodations, and personally better to be out of city center.

We were really impressed with the Midas Resort. Cabanas were very cool. A neat, jungle experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. A short 5-10min walk into the town centre.
