You don t have nothing close to go out at least to have a meal. The staff was really kind and the tours we arranged there were excellent and with a significant cheaper price that arranged by internet. The rooms were very bad.
Milimani had to move to its new location and had been up and running for only a month. Hopefully they will get the hot water going in the main house bathroom and add a bench and some hooks. The one shower in the main house for all three dorms is supplemented by using the ensuite bathroom in the dorm in a separate building. Offering meals is a real convenience and delicious. The staff were super.

Only had a short night to stay there on the way to a safari but would recommend it and stay again if I were back in the area. Like a new facility with a lot of great features.
this hostel has moved locations so is further out of town than it already was.
This is my 3rd time staying here so its testament that I like this hostel and its staff. There are a few quirks as there are with every hostel. It's a little far from town (800-1,000 taxi). The mixed dorm contains the storage room, the lockers and by experience the preferred toilet so these make for regular disturbances and people entering that are not necessarily staying in the dorm. That said its a nice hostel in a lovely grounds. The staff are very helpful.

Millimani is a pretty nice place to stay away from the city center. Due to its location, I think it is ideal for staying if you want to avoid the chaos of Nairobi but of course, it is not ideal for taking advantage of the city's activities and nightlife. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the double rooms were a pretty good size and value, although fans might be good for hot weather. The beautiful grounds were definitely a plus as well.
The staff is very friendly but they dont seem to know many things, so it is better not to ask them for information, coz they will recommend to book something through them which is not going to be the cheapest option, they dont seem to be interested in u saving money but spending more, even on the Nairobi Natural park they should know better that u can even book a place at the entrace on a car but tey simply suggest to hire a taxi with them, wich is not the best option and it is more expensive.

located in the milimani area, really convenient, the tours are a bit pricey, but a no hassle place, really good.
Not a bad place to stay at.... the staff weren´t very friendly but you got what you paid for
Location isn't very convenient but it is still walkable to the city centre in half hr to 45 min with luggage. Very helpful with safaris and bookings and wont hassle you to take their trips. Food and common areas were good but dorms didn't have many plugpoints or any lockers. Great place to meet other travellers if you are looking to put a group together for a safari.
NB: The dorm price is KES 750, not KES 1000 as advertised on hostelworld! It's a great location, close to town with clean and comfortable beds. Good place to meet other travelers, and good fast wifi too!
Located about 10 minutes walking from Nairobi city center but in a nice green area. No lockers in the rooms. Payed wi-fi, expensive and slow when working. Did the Maasai Mara/Lake Nakuru safari that they organized for me and had a great time. There is a fireplace that they light every night at the restaurant area and where there is also a bar with relaxing music. Could stay many night there just chilling. Would definetly stay there again if back in Nairobi.
Loved it at Milimani Backpackers. Would definitely go back next time I am in Nairobi.
This was an awesome hostel - the staff was great, it wasn't too expensive at all, they are close to downtown Nairobi, and they have good food. It sucks that you have to pay for internet daily and that they shut it off at midnight, but otherwise everything else is pretty reasonable. Definitely worth a stay!
nice , clean friendly staff good food . the only downside would be very nice to have small trash can in the rooms. Also one wash basin where to brush the teeth or shave small things but make big difference.
I had a very nice stay at Milimani. The staff is wonderful (and the night person is not as bad as you would think from reading the reviews, she is just not as lively as the day people), the food is good (also if you are a vegetarian) and the hostel has a good atmosphere. Would love to come back some other time. The only thing I don't like is the dog. If you are allergic to dogs or afraid of dogs I would recommend you stay somewhere else.
really good base for doing anything in and around nairobi. really secure, great atmosphere. can't go wrong!
The woman working the desk on the night shift is a monster. Her attitude ranged from "the rudest person I've met while travelling" to "hysterical monster". Even the kindness of the lady working the desk during the day (so helpful and nice) can't neutralize how terribly I was treated by night-shift woman. I know Kenya has no service culture but this woman should be fired immediately. The only thing that was positive about Milimani was the food, the security and the location, somewhat.
