The lady who owned the hostel was very welcoming and friendly. The bedroom was of good size and a breakfast was put on every morning. The kitchen and bathroom was very dated and is in need of a clean and upgrade. Lino has been tacked to almost everywhere in the bathroom, the walls, ceiling ... I guess a different approach to waterproofing. If you like dogs then come here as currently there are two lively puppies and a friendly mum who are occasionally let into the place + a cat.
Like staying at your relative's house! Teresa is a wonderful host, if you speak spanish you can have lots of conversations with her! Cute dogs, too!
The lady who runs this hostel is a gem! So lovely, great sense of humour and extremely helpful. This place feels more like a bnb than a hostel, you spend a lot of time hanging with her and her gorgeous dogs! Location is great, right beside sotomayer square. Place is kept clean, simple bunkbeds in the room we stayed in. Breakfast is simple, yogurt and bread. I would definitely recommend!
A subdued sort of a place! It felt more like I was a guest in someone's house - very welcoming though.
Just like staying with a relative. Very welcoming, warm atmosphere. Large double room. Good breakfast, slightly pokey bathroom but good hot shower. Generally found Valparaiso at night, a bit scary as there are a few dodgy characters on the streets and plenty of dark, narrow alleyways. Hostel is located on a stairway and we didn't have any problems but would advise people to not walk around alone anywhere in the city as there had been tourists robbed elsewhere quite recently.
The hostel is a little bit hidden. You need to get good directions or have a taxi that brings you there and tells you how to find it. (Basically where you need to go up.) Otherwise it's a cosy little hostel that's adjacent to the artist's neighborhood and only a 5 minute walk from a nice viewing point and the center.
A very nice cosy hostel. Has a homely feel. It isn't a very lively one and doesn't have much atosphere. The lady that works there is lovely and the rooms were spacious. A good location near the centre of Valpo and close to the port.
having 100 % in your reviews was very misleading ,thought this hostel was ok and nothing more. I,ve travelled for years in many different countries and stayed in 100,s of hostels most of which were nicer and none have 100% reviews .........
