The family who run this hostel are incredibly nice and the location is excellent- right next to the main square (Plaza Sotomayor). I stayed for New Year and it was such a great choice as all the action is in and around this plaza so it was easy to pop back and forth to the hostel. It was also one of the cheapest options around. I would really recommend this place if you are a laid back person- they have a puppy and a cat and I have stayed in cleaner places but the atmosphere is really friendly.

The owner's son decided to invite friends over on our second night. Despite our requests for quiet, they partied loudly all night! The place was falling apart and bad enough even before that. One of the worst experiences in our 76 countries traveled.

The hostel is a family house, small and cozy and in a nice location. The staff is wonderful, really helpful! When we stayed there, there was no water in the whole city, but the owner made everything she could to keep the bathrooms absolutely clean. It was great.
