Just like staying with a relative. Very welcoming, warm atmosphere. Large double room. Good breakfast, slightly pokey bathroom but good hot shower. Generally found Valparaiso at night, a bit scary as there are a few dodgy characters on the streets and plenty of dark, narrow alleyways. Hostel is located on a stairway and we didn't have any problems but would advise people to not walk around alone anywhere in the city as there had been tourists robbed elsewhere quite recently.
The hostel is a little bit hidden. You need to get good directions or have a taxi that brings you there and tells you how to find it. (Basically where you need to go up.) Otherwise it's a cosy little hostel that's adjacent to the artist's neighborhood and only a 5 minute walk from a nice viewing point and the center.
A very nice cosy hostel. Has a homely feel. It isn't a very lively one and doesn't have much atosphere. The lady that works there is lovely and the rooms were spacious. A good location near the centre of Valpo and close to the port.
I really really loved my stay in the hostel! If youre looking for a nice and cozy place to stay with a very friendly and helpful family who is managing the hostel, than it is the perfect place you can go to! its perfectly located in the center of valparaiso and you can explore at the same time the barscene (VERY GOOD!) and the old town as well! i can 100% recommend the stay in this hostel!
