Great courtyard style hostel. The staff was very helpful and the rooms and bathrooms were kept clean.

This is a wonderful hostel located in an old courtyard in the hutongs of Beijing. People speak English quite well and always try to help when you have a problem. I stayed in a very nice 4 bed dorm with a bathroom ensuite. Everything was very tidy and clean. In the courtyard they have several loungers where you can perfectly relax after walking through Beijing.

I had a fantastic time there. The beds were amazing, the facilities very clean, and the staff were incredibly helpful. They were so friendly and kind... I will recommend Ming Courtyard to anyone who is traveling to Beijing.

We stayed at this hostel for 2 nights, in the 12 bed dorm. At first we were a little apprehensive about staying in a 12 bed dorm, but it was excellent. The room was very clean and had real character. The outside courtyard was beautiful, and would be ideal if the weather is nice! The staff were friendly and helpful and the showers were perfect. The location is fine, a little tucked away down a side street, and is a little hard for taxis to find, but the upside to this is that the room was quiet.

great location just off ghost street and close to sub ( 5 minute walk) would have good facilites, but bar area was closed during our stay. had to go outside from dorm to go the bathroom. (not good in spring, at night and in rain) had to sit in lobby during evening, not much room (1 sofa and a couple chairs) for a lot of people. very cheap, definatly aimed at low budget travellers.

Other than a decent location, hot showers, and a very friendly golden retriever, I was not overly impressed. The rooms were small and bare. There was (supposedly) a bar/restaurant...but it was closed at 9pm, and appeared to be closed in the morning as well. Some people hung out in the lobby, but there was not much of a community feel. The employees didn't speak much English. For the average price, I would probably try a different hostel next time.

FEI FEI RULES!!! The staff at Ming Courtyard are friendly and helpful, the manager even offered to escort me to the store of a cellular provider to assist me! The accommodations are modern, clean and comfortable. The location is GREAT! The temperature in most of the showers is about 100 degrees so it feels almost warm but not hot.

Dongzhimen is a pretty nice place to stay in. The hostel is relatively clean and safe however the wifi isn't so stable but hey, it's free!
