After a month in China, this last stay was the best place to take home the absolute memory. The staff were most accommodating and at least one person around could speak English. My room was very modern, clean and well arranged. I had the best value for money.

a very calm, clean and well located hostel ruled by a very nice staff. the hostel was quite empty at the time that i was there so i stayed in a 6 bedroom for the price of a 10 bedroom (the one i first booked). they provide different kinds of tours to the Great Wall or the Ming Tombs but try not to book them, you'll spend more time buying souvenirs in "tourist factories" than at the Wall itself (although it is what you paid (quite a lot) for)!

I have previously sayed at a 5* Hotel in Wangfujing, my experience at Ming Hostel was more enjoyable, I loved the location, a bustling hutong with a warm community feel. The bathrooms were large, clean and plenty of hot water and the rooms were cleaned daily.

Very nice staff but the location is not that good. Also the price for dorms is high when one takes into account what one gets, the prices at other hostels in Beijing and the location.

Hostel is nice and clean. First impression of location in not the best, but actually it is good. Safe surroundings. There is not much to do in common area - so atmosphere is so so. Stuff speaks poor English - that makes everything harder. Also I forgot my sunglasses and Ipod, but stuff said they didn\'t find it... this made me very upset...

Owner Comment (Show)
Sorry we can not help you to find your sunglasses and ipod. You stay at a 6 mixed dorm and call us you missed your sunglasses and ipod 2 days after you check out. As soon as we received your call, we try our best to find what you lost, but unfortunately we did not find them after searching every corner. Anyway we hope this will not make you any bad impression to our hostel. Try to make everybody stay safely and comfortable is our purpose.

Very nice neighborhood! Friendly staff, but English is not always very good, so they cannot help you with everything. And the rooms itself are not so clean except for the soft beds. Still I would recommend this hostel, because of the spacy courtyard.

I've never given a 100% before but this hostel was perfect. Only suggestion would be to change the directions on the website. When coming out of exit C do a right turn then immediately another right (basically a U-turn) then turn right at the road. Then the first set of lights right again then 3 minutes down you find it.

Great hostel. Only 2 issues: 1) there were no lockers in the rooms themselves, though there were small lockers (about a foot square) you could rent for one yuan; 2, the drains in the shower room reeked - get some Mr. Muscle super charged bleach. Other than that though perfect - good bar, good staff, good breakfast. :) Would go again.

Staff were nice enough, but several at the front desk struggled with basic English. Something I'd expect of a random Chinese hotel but not a foreigner-based hostel. And the staff that did speak some English were not particularly knowledgable and thus were not very helpful. I learned that I would be better served to look the answers to basic questions like how to get to Great Wall, online than the staff because they didn't know.

Nice hostel with a huge courtyard and a decent restaurant/bar with foozeball table. Nice staff and plenty of clean bathrooms. Beds were very comfy by Chinese standards. They offer various tours & free luggage storage. Would stay here again :)

This hostel is fantastic. Located close to the subway in central Beijing, it provides an ideal location for exploring the nation\'s capital. The hostel itself is extremely clean with attentive, English speaking staff(any other reviews which state that the staff cannot speak English are ridiculous). The added bonus of this hostel is the huge courtyard, it\'s really special and a great place to meet other travellers. 10/10

in an old building which is nice(traditional courtyard) location is just okay.(there are better places) 10 min walk to subway. They should make activities and better wifi. Toilet also has a smell. They have to improve quite a bit.

We thought the hostel was great, with spacious room and very clean. The only draw back is that the bed was like stone, which seems to be typical for most places in China. All in all a great hostel =)

It was FREEZING COLD the whole time I stayed there. The sheets must have been on the bed for quite some time because there was dust and dead, dried bugs on the covers when I arrived. The whole hostel smelled like a port-a-potty, but inside the women's dorm room was the absolute worst - I could barely stand it. The hostel had no activities or comfortable places to relax, and the internet was barely usable. I have traveled all over the world, but this is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in.
