This hostel is in fact an average 2-3* hotel. There are no real communal facilities such as a bar or common room. Only KTV which plays very loud music all night. The staff don't speak English and are not the same people that answer the email enquiries in English. The location is fine, very near the train station and easy to get into town but only if you speak Chinese as the map and information provided by the hostel are very basic. Positives: the rooms are comfortable and breakfast is included.

This very nice HOTEL (yes this is typical chinese hotel not hostel at all) so we were a bit disappointed that it was not what we hoped it to be. But at the end of the day, if you book this hotel and you expect to stay in hotel room it is actually nice and quiet place to be. Breakfast is included in price but it is not anything special. better to eat outside just next door to the hotel. PS: I can recommend this place but there are many other places in Chengde where you can sleep (but not online).

this is a hotel not a hostel - it was nice, and good value, but there was no chance to meet anyone new. there also wasn't wifi and no communal computers (that i saw anyway!) so if you were moving on to somewhere else then that might be a problem. the staff were nice mind, and whilst there seemed to only be one lady who spoke english, she was there on hand during the peak times which was good!

Ming's Hostel isn't a Hostel. You share a normal Hotel room with 3 other people, but the hotel is nice and the price is good!
