Good hostel, nice comfy beds and a good warm 8 bed dorm. bathrooms let it down, 1 shower between 16 people isnt really enough and the shower rooms are freezing with barely hot. i would, however, stay here again.

This hostel is indeed well-located in Old Suzhou on the pedestrian & historical street (Pingjiang Lu). However, it's true that it's poorly isolated. We heated our room all evening and night long at the max. on the A/C (30 degrees) & it was barely warm. We were freezing and had to sleep fully-clothed (hat, scarf & mittens on). If you ask for help, they send you an old man who only speak Chinese! The water isn't hot either! If this hostel can't fix these things, it shouldn't run in the winter!

This was a gorgeous hostel along beautiful Pingjiang Road, but NOT fun to stay at in the winter. Our room was very cold, the hot water was so limited only one person (out of probably 10 guests at least sharing a bathroom) could take a shower within a few hours, the lock on our door was broken so we repeatedly had trouble getting in, and the breakfast was ridiculously overpriced. It's probably fine in the summer, but I would still be hesitant to stay here again.

There was lack of a common area which made the hostel feel more like a hotel. Otherwise a very nice stay!

Hot bath is not ready all the time. Hot water flow suddenly stopped when I was putting soap on for twice. Wireless is crap. There were no wifi for all four days of my stay. Staff was quite rude. They were relunctant to help to solve the problems above and they scolded on the incoming visitors who had not booked for any room or bed. My advice was, dun expect more than a bed.

Nice and friendly service. The location on Pingjiang road is ideal.

This hostel's location was excellent, located on Pingjiang lu, Suzhou's historical street. Staff was quite helpful, and the rooms and bathrooms were quite clean. I have no complaints, and would definitely stay here again.

Great rooms and a working air conditioning which is worth a lot in China's poorly isolated rooms, especially if it's around zero outside! The location's amazing, too, and I can thoroughly recommend the Momicafé next door. And Pingjiang Lu is great for an early morning stroll. Hot water's only available 5 hours in the morning, though, which is really the only downside.

Overall the hostel was excellent with a great location. The room was really cold, however, even with the heat turned up to the max all night.

Good stay. It was marred by confusion a little when they accidentally gave away two of our rooms to somebody else for the second night. Staff managed to find a dorm for the left overs. Situated on a canal (one of many in SuZhou admittedly), it has a nice charm. Staff were helpful in helping us traverse the city.

Despite lots of confusion over our large booking as well as blocked toilets, the staff were friendly and genuinely tried to help. I also liked the area - you look right out onto cobbled streets and the canal. The internet may be slow but the place has character.

Excellent hostel, great location. HOWEVER, this hostel was very cold. There was a heater in the room but it was enough to heat up the room adequately. I would reconsider staying here if coming in winter time.
