I have now stayed at Minka Hostel 4 times. The hostels facilities are good and they are building a lot of new things. But there is NO atmosphere at all! It's only staff and Spanish speaking guests staying there. On Hostelworld it says that the reception is open 24 hours. That's not true! I arrived at 5 am, and wasn't able to get in. The water pressure in the showers is really bad. There is a lot of other hostels with great atmosphere around!
I really loved this hostel! It's in a great location between the old and new town. A lot of effort has been put into the public areas, they're so colourful and bright with plenty of seating and plug sockets! The bed, pillow and cover was probably the comfiest I have experienced in South America and the staff were great, so helpful and friendly! Really good choice!
some staff was helpful but not very knowledgeable. also hot water may run out unexpectably
Great place. Clean, friendly staff and residents. Would definitely recommend.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was great and they have a nice common area as well as a good kitchen and good breakfast. The rooms were clean and had a lot of space. All in all I really enjoyed my stay in the hostel.
The bathroom had a mold issue. And guests were really loud, slamming doors all the time. Other than that the staff was AWESOME and the place was very bright and attractive. Thanks!!!!!!!!
Great little hostel close to Quito's Old Town, 200m from the Trelo (metro rail). The managers are very, very helpful and the place is kept clean at all times. The beds are comfortable and made every day. The simple free breakfast usually included to pieces of bread, coffee, eggs and a piece of fruit. We are traveling around Ecuador for an extended period of time and will keep coming back to this place!
Really chilled and good hostel in Quito, I stayed there a few times. One tip they need to update the directions. You don't at all need to get a taxi from Almeda bus station. It's about 3 blocks away!!
Amazing Social Hostel with so much space, great wifi and the cosiest beds. Amazing spanish teacher available too. Likely my favourite hostel in South America.
I booked a 4 bed dorm but ended up in a 10 bed dorm with one bathroom between us, there is only one other bathroom in the common area. The staff are friendly and helpful, Internet was problematic but seem ok by the time I left after 7 nights. Location is ok, but the old town is about 10 mins walk and it's up hill all the way back! The Saturday I stayed, there was a big party near the hostel and the sound traveled, nothing they could do but be aware.
Fantastic hostel. Great facilities, lots of open common areas. Staff incredibly helpful, particularly Nico! Hard to leave this place!
The stafstaff waswas wonderful! They had info on how to get to many places without using a tour agency, which saved us a lot of timetime and money. They were also there to answer any questions we had. The beds were comfy and warm, wifi really fast and the atmosphere was friendly and bright. Would definitely staystay again.
Very comfy beds! Showers were adequately warm with decent pressure. The kitchen was well stocked, but it's best to cook early if you want to garantee a spot on the stove. Staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and any questions.
