It was great. The owner offers free rides to and from the train station and speaks fantastic English (especially considering this is Japan, where few people speak English).

Everytime I come to Nikko, I will come to the Narusawa Lodge. It's got a great atmosphere and is very comfortable. However, by far the greatest aspect of the lodge itself is the amazing staff. Thank you very much.

Narusawa Lodge is located close to the center of Nikko, a short walk from both Nikko JR or Nikko Tobu stations and also walking distance from the World Heritage site. The lodge is japanese style, standing between a bed and breakfast and a hostel, with really spacious rooms and a very home-like atmosphere. The guy who is running the place, Yu-Ji, is exceptionally friendly and came with very good advices on how to enjoy Nikko. Highly recommended! Very friendly guy running the place. He speaks English very well. With common use refrigerators a dining hall, bathhouse and free tea available very homely, located close to central Nikko.
