Although the location is a bit out of town the owner will pick you up and drop you off at the station. It was raining when we got there and the owners even gave us a lift to and from the restaurant! In fact the friendly reception you get here is well worth the money alone! An excellent place.

Japan is an amazing place. We had a fantastic experience everywhere we went, but Nikko will always stand out in our minds because of Rindo-no-Ie. The people whose home this is are just phenomenal. I wish we could have stayed another night, just to spend more time with them in their home. Definitely opt for the dinner -- it's a wonderful experience!

The accomodation was very nice ~ lovely Japanese-style room, very clean facilities and the staff couldn't have been nicer!! I have been to several hostels in Japan, and this might be the best! "Hostel" is not the right word for Rindo-no-ie because it is better than a hostel!

Everything was excellent! I highly recommend this lovely place to everyone. It`s the best place I`ve been in my two weeks spent in Japan. It`s a traditional japanese house, with few rooms, run by a delicious couple. They are very friendly and helpful. He speks English, he picked us up at the station and he drove us back there at the end of our staying. He also has got two bikes which can be used for free. Great place from every point of view!

The couple who run this Minsyuku are incredibly nice and hospitable. I highly recommend getting the dinner meal, as all of the food was incredible even if I didn't know exactly how to eat everything that was presented to me. You can walk to the Minshyuku within about 15 to 20 minutes from the train station if you feel like being adventurous. The walk was pleasant and once you are on the main street to cross the bridge, it is easy to find and well marked. Highly recommended.
