I couldn't believe it when I saw the room I was supposed to sleep in. I expected a 6 bed all female dorm to be a fairly decent size with enough space to put belongings. But there were no surfaces other than the 3 bunk beds and very little floor space. Lockers were tiny. Room was dark and dingy, and worst of all, it had a overpowering stench of stale urine! Mattresses on both the available beds were damp, and the old, worn sheets I was given had rust coloured stains on them. Disgusting hellhole.

Great location! Very nice breakfast at the beach. Our twinroom was a 9-bed dorm that felt very small and was not very clean. Not worth the price.

Nice atmosphere, very relaxed and easy going. Helpful friendly staff. Martin was very lovely (it was his first day). Breakfast is served on the beach which is a beautiful location. Can't imagine the scenery being any more gorgeous. No air con in the dorm room but did have a fan. Nice areas to sit in the sun. Kitchen facility pretty basic and crowded but did have a fridge, Would recommend to a friend.

A great place to stay- right on the beach. The staff were amazing; friendly, helpful and fun to be with. It's not the cheapest place to be if you are on a tight budget but it's definitely worth spending the extra.. you will see. If you want to party just walk across the road to the bar on the beach and everyone is there- if you want to relax just grab a hammock at the hostel. I would stay again- everytime!

Beautiful, tranquil hostel. Excellent place to relax and unwind. I especially liked waking up every morning to breakfast on the beach.

breakfast on the beach is the highlight of this hostel. staff was fine, they help a lot if you need but the room was kind of small for 9 people and there was no much place for our stuff. they also organize tours for you.

I slept in the 9bed dorm, which has three levels (so there are 3 bunkbeds for three people), there were no stairs to get to the top and there were not enough pillows. Asking the reception for another one resulted in the answer "we do not have any". Having said that, location is good, people are friendly and breakfast is ok.

We had the lovely double room with fantastic sea views. The hostel is clean and welcoming. Generally staff were helpful.

Good hostel in a good location ontheother side of the river from the main town, overall not a bad stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The 3 bed bunks were a little interesting, bathrooms are on the small side and breakfast was not plentiful.

we stayed over the New Year's night and the prices were very high for what you get. Our beds were not ready and cleaned when we arrived even though it was around 7 in the evening, and the staff didn't seem to care about it at all!! The just kept saying that they were just clerks and had so many people and couldn't handle everything - all this said while playing with a dog!! difficult to believe! great disappointment!

This was a party hostel, at least while I stayed there. My first reaction was that their 6 bed dorm really only should have fit 4 beds, which is always annoying. No common area bathrooms (only en-suite), and the staff was not terribly attentive. Not a whole lot of space to hang out. Decent location, right across from the beach. Would probably be a great place if you're not there in high-season.

Bad experience. They change my room at the last moment for a worst one, very dirty. They don't pick me up at the station ( as they say in the webiste) But people were nice

Amazing hostel, stay there.

Breakfast on the beach (amazing), dormitory was nine bed (triple bunks) which felt very crowded, but the common area downstairs was really open, clean and good for meeting people. Also, the parties on the beach are brilliant and completely unavoidable. The girl on reception is delighful, the man (Jorge) not so much. In fact a lot of the men here are fairly sleazy, including the kayak man. But overall, I liked it here.

Most of the stuff was just amazingly friendly and helpful when it doesn't come to sell you one of the tours or excursions. Make sure that if you're a couple and would like to sleep in a double bed, pay more from the beginning or ask them not to put you in a normal dorm like the USA Room. Location is excellent and the breakfast on the beach unbeatable!

I'm not much of a fan of the 3 bed high bunk bed situation, but I was content during my stay. The bathroom was dingy and a bit funky. I liked the staff, location, and people. The breakfast was lovely and I'd say there is more good than bad. It's just the chain type of deal, you know. Anyhow, great value and nice folks.

awesome place, staff were really friendly and helpful, great location and would happily recommend this to others. NB if you get the private ensuite room at the top of the stairs called 'New Zealand' a little yellow bird attacks its own reflection in the window most mornings! v funny
