A great location and good atmospheare but rooms are far too small with bunk beds piled three high and no space to mover around on the floor or put your stuff.

Initially everything seemed ok. However, I left with over 150 bed bug bites. I gave the hostel a chance to redress the issue but I was told that I must have had an allergic reaction! The hostel was fumigating other rooms but still excepting guests without telling them. When I left Paraty I realised my expensive Siennheisser headphones had gone missing from the room even though my room mates and I kept the room locked. My fellow room mates also had a battery charger go missing. Never again!

Nice hostel rigth in front of the beach. The staff was friendly and helpful from the beginning. The hostel was clean and tidy. The best thing is the bar on the beach, it offers an amazing breakfast in the morning and great parties at night.

Where do I start? Free pick up from bus station? Didn't happen. Sheets handed to us in a ball, didn't look cleaned,lockers(only some still working) tiny and not very secure, no ac in 6 bed dorms and when we moved to 9 bed we cudnt get it turned on before 11, breakfast is poor and on the beach ad is nonsense-it's surrounded by flies. Staff as a whole unhelpful and there for themselves, not for guest, although one exception, don't know her name.

The hostel should have bigger lockers who we can fit minimum a backpack size to it and ladder between the levels of the bunk bed , because is difficult to climb and don't wake up someone sleeping at the first level.

Would not give a full refund for the remaining nights booked and only after a full blown argument with the manager in middle of the hostel was able to get a 66% refund. They also agreed to pay for our bug infested laundry but when we went to pick up was told they weren't going to pay which lead to another argument! Only seem concerned w/ $$$!

The hostel was nice, though i think that it needs more kitchen equipment, a larger fridge, or just one more. They also need more air in the rooms. I stayed in room 2, and it smelled bad, needed a better airing system, especially in the toilet, the small. almost non existing window in the toilet is ridiculously small, if it was bigger it would make a great diff, or just another system. Otherwise, I think that the staff was friendly and helpfull, and I loved to get breaky served on the beach:)

I couldn't believe it when I saw the room I was supposed to sleep in. I expected a 6 bed all female dorm to be a fairly decent size with enough space to put belongings. But there were no surfaces other than the 3 bunk beds and very little floor space. Lockers were tiny. Room was dark and dingy, and worst of all, it had a overpowering stench of stale urine! Mattresses on both the available beds were damp, and the old, worn sheets I was given had rust coloured stains on them. Disgusting hellhole.

Great location! Very nice breakfast at the beach. Our twinroom was a 9-bed dorm that felt very small and was not very clean. Not worth the price.

Nice atmosphere, very relaxed and easy going. Helpful friendly staff. Martin was very lovely (it was his first day). Breakfast is served on the beach which is a beautiful location. Can't imagine the scenery being any more gorgeous. No air con in the dorm room but did have a fan. Nice areas to sit in the sun. Kitchen facility pretty basic and crowded but did have a fridge, Would recommend to a friend.

A great place to stay- right on the beach. The staff were amazing; friendly, helpful and fun to be with. It's not the cheapest place to be if you are on a tight budget but it's definitely worth spending the extra.. you will see. If you want to party just walk across the road to the bar on the beach and everyone is there- if you want to relax just grab a hammock at the hostel. I would stay again- everytime!

Beautiful, tranquil hostel. Excellent place to relax and unwind. I especially liked waking up every morning to breakfast on the beach.

breakfast on the beach is the highlight of this hostel. staff was fine, they help a lot if you need but the room was kind of small for 9 people and there was no much place for our stuff. they also organize tours for you.

I slept in the 9bed dorm, which has three levels (so there are 3 bunkbeds for three people), there were no stairs to get to the top and there were not enough pillows. Asking the reception for another one resulted in the answer "we do not have any". Having said that, location is good, people are friendly and breakfast is ok.

We had the lovely double room with fantastic sea views. The hostel is clean and welcoming. Generally staff were helpful.

Good hostel in a good location ontheother side of the river from the main town, overall not a bad stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The 3 bed bunks were a little interesting, bathrooms are on the small side and breakfast was not plentiful.

we stayed over the New Year's night and the prices were very high for what you get. Our beds were not ready and cleaned when we arrived even though it was around 7 in the evening, and the staff didn't seem to care about it at all!! The just kept saying that they were just clerks and had so many people and couldn't handle everything - all this said while playing with a dog!! difficult to believe! great disappointment!
