The owner really made the trip to Yakushima worth our while with good information about busses, tours etc. And the hot japanese-style bath after a long hike really hit the spot! Highly recommended!

This hostel is very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need. The large bath tubs are particularly welcome after a long hike and big enough to share, if needs be. The owner was extremely nice. There is a friendly common room, although most people come here for the hiking and nature, not to party, so the hostel is quite relaxed. After staying here, I wouldn't stay anywhere else if I returned to Yakushima. Very good spot.

The room was great, beds were comfortable and the guy who checked us in was really great and gave us great advice about hiking to Jomonsugi. He also gave us a map in English and gave us great restaurant recommendations!

This was a nice and comfortable place! The owner is a really nice guy. He knows a lot about the island and is really helpfull. Also there is a nice (Japanese) tub in both bathrooms, which are filled with hot water when you come back from hiking!

A lovely hostel really close to the port. The rooms had everything you could need. The Ohuro bath was a real bonus and so relaxing after a long hike in the forest. I'd definitely stay there again.

Had a fantastic time, loved Yakushima! Our second stay at the same hostel and it was just as wonderful as the first. The manager is incredibly nice and very welcoming, and the hostel feels spacious and clean. The ofuro style baths were especially appreciated after a long Jomon Sugi climb. We can't wait to come back for a third time!

Close to the port, so very accessible if you arrive in Yakushima by ferry. Extremely friendly and helpful staff - it's as if they really know what people want from the island, and a stay in general! My friend and I got a lot of neat tips about Yakushima. Nice facilities to chill out - you can buy beer from the fridge, local alcohol, snacks, maps, locks, etc. - all these little things add up. One of the best experiences I've had in Japan, and I'd say in large thanks to the hostel!

The location is great, and as far as places on Yakushima go, you can't do much better than this hostel for the price. The owner is really nice and even organized my scooter rental for touring the island. He gave plenty of dining recommendations and was always available if I needed something.
