Located on the West Bank the hotel was a short distance from the Nile and about a 5 minute walk to the town. Lots of restaurants were nearby and staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I booked all my tours through the hotel including a guide. The price was about 50% less than the price if you booked online before your trip. I saw the same sites as the online tours. I was traveling solo and it was just me on the tours which I really liked. The price was good for the room and my room was big.

This is probably the worst place I have stayed in for my whole trip and I have been doing hostel stays for over 10 months now. The owners are really lovely and kind people but they seem way out of their depth running this place. The internet was broken for 3 days and there seemed to be no urgency to fix it. They didn’t offer us an option to hotspot or another alternative in the mean time. When it was fixed they didn’t even notify us. When we checked in we were shown 3 different rooms until we were finally taken to the correct room. Halfway through our stay the owner tried to tell us we would need to pay double what we agreed upon for our stay. The only room that the internet ended up working in had the owners screaming children in the whole time. Or they would be blasting tv programs from their iPads noisily the entire time. I attempted to sit in that room to get some online work done and the noise made it impossible to work. On top of that this is when the owner approached me to discuss doubling the price on my room. Even after I had told her I was trying to work she insisted on staying to discuss it with me. I couldn’t stay in my room to work because the internet didn’t work in there. They run breakfast until 10am which is a good breakfast. The first morning I came out to eat at 9:45am as i had gotten in at 4am that morning so I needed the sleep in. That afternoon one of the staff asked me if I could come earlier the next morning so that he didn’t have to wait for me. Even though they state they run breakfast until 10am. Then he asked me for a cigarette. Egypt is a place where you’re hassled constantly on the street-that’s to be expected. It’s sad that we couldn’t even find refuge and relax in our hostel in the evenings. Another thing that happened is our friend tried to stay there and they had overbooked so they sent him to another hostel. This place is so disorganised it’s unbelievable. I highly recommend finding alternate accomodation.
