Great place to meet fellow backpackers Rooftop bar is excellent

Monkey Jane is a legend. There had been some complications with our booking and she worked very hard to make sure we were still accomodated. Great Hostel, Great Roof Top bar, Great local attractions advice. 100% recommend this place

This hostel rips people off and charges each individual client differently, depending on how much they think they can get from them. A bunch of thieves!

Unfortunately the staff were very unhelpful and we found bed bugs in the bed, when they did my washing I found it all strewn across the floor of the bar and then was told to move it myself. Apparently Jane wasn't there, but i don't know if that had anything to do with it, I moved hostels the next day. It does have a good location and seemingly good trips but I wouldn't advise staying here.

Great hostel. Very hard working staff. Dont go here if you dont drink, smoke or bet (so basically fun). Monkey jane herself is mental. Love Max and Fran

A party hostel if there ever was one in china. A great bar and always people to meet, party and play beer pong with. Rooms and showers are as average as most but the atmosphere here is a lot of fun and definitely worth staying at. Great location on the main drag too. Wifi, average and no Facebook as advertised. Staff are helpful and knowledgable.

The infamous monkey janes didn't fail to disappoint in terms of atmosohere with plenty of people to talk to in the lobby or the party of the rooftop bar and it's stunning views. Sure I've sen cleaner hostels but nothing too ad by ny means. The water is hotter in the second building and the huge film selection was much appreciated too. Not the greatest internets though and no FB as advertised. Very helpful, fun, knowledgable staff though. Definitely worth a visit.

The enviroment is excellent, but if you are looking for a peacefull, quiet, superclean and hipersafe place this is not your place. But I'm going to repeat because the people is amazing and is the perfect place to have fun!!!

Had a great time here, rooftop bar is great, only downside were the cold showers! But worth it to stay here and would definitely stay here again. They may charge a lot more for bookings made online than walk-ins, which isn't particularly fair...

This place is for people looking for a party and who don't care about the state of the hostel. Our room was cramped, the bathroom was dirty and the beds were falling apart. Jane is not always friendly and seems to change her mind about room fees depending on her mood. The location of the hostel is great and the bar is a lot of fun. I wouldn't stay here again but I would definitely revisit the bar!

This is the place to be if you wanna meet fellow travelers. Really cool rooftop bar with great views and if you are in a party mood, you will like this place. Our bathroom was not very clean but except from that everything was good.

I would definitely recommend for others to stay at a nicer place that cares about their customers. If you rrallt want you can stay at one of 3 hostels in the same allry andbjust go to janes rooftop bar if you really want to. Room and bathoom tiny amd very damp. Wifi not working was a big problem in the mornings and I had to go to use showbiz inns wifi becaise the staff either didnt know how to fox it or were too lazy. Way too many options for you to stay here and encounter problems.

A true backpackers hostel. I got a private room which served its purpose. If you are near the roof expect loud music until 3am, - didn't really bother me. Jane is somewhat of a party animal, which can be a good or bad, depending on what you are looking for. Bathroom smelled a bit, but beers are cheap, and we got good recommendations. All in all a pretty good place. My friends stayed in the other building and when I visited their room it was pretty dodgy, so try to get in the main building.

Had a lovely stay. A great laugh, however the rooms were mouldy and damp. Not just a little bit damp, the bed was kind of soaking, which was not nice. But staff were hilarious and the bar was a lot of fun. Full of like minded travellers.

Wonderful Hostel! Cheap rooms, good tours and great atmosphere. The rooftop bar is legendary. Had an awesome couple of nights here, and plan to stay much longer.

If the washing was cheaper & also came back with all the correct contents.

Monkey Janes is the best Hostel i stayed so far in China. The location is brilliant, the information provided by the stuff is really useful, the atmosphere at the rooftopbar (doesent matter if its summer or winter time) is totally amazing, it is so easy to socialize with other people! And Monkey Jane herself..she's a fuckin legend :D I highly recommend this hostel to everybody who loves socializing with other people, making party, etc. It is the best hostel backpackers can imagine!

If you want to party in Yangshuo, Monkey Jane's is the place to do it.

Monkey Jane's was one of the best possible stops. I made friends with Jane, who is a liiiiitttle bit whacky but always fun, and I made friends from all over the world. It's nice because you have no desire to spend any time in your room. The common area and rooftop bar are always crawling with travelers, so even if you're traveling alone like I pretty much was, you never have to go on adventures by yourself. Jane is the most helpful person around.
