PLUS: - Location - Price - Other Friendly Guests - Cleanliness - Printer available for $0.25/per page - Nice bathroom CONS: - They charge me $10 for some kind of security deposit, refund to my credit card never came - Only 2 plug-ins in my 4 bed room - Slow internet (Netflix login is useless because of that) - No trash bins in the room - Sometimes there was nothing to eat for FREE breakfast - They asked me for $10 for security locker

First 2 nights had to share a small bright room with Simon who was living there I guess and really into David Blaine?? Had what looked like apartment contents all over the room. He was so rude speaking loud every morning at 8am. Thanks Simon. Moved to another room

A production crew is filming an on going reality show which was exciting! The hostel was close to Union Station and right across the street from the Metro Subway station so great location with a great view of Downtown LA. Very comfortable & cool chill creative type people too. I will stay again on my way back from San Diego!

I liked this place. It's fairly new and the staff are all obviously keen to make it work. However I overheard a lot of staff talk about plans for the hostel: there was lots of talk about 'vision' and 'concept' and rather less attention paid to just making things work properly. Check-in and check-out were both rather vague and drawn-out processes. Start with the basics guys! No real complaints though.

Our acoommodation was a thin foam matress on the floor of an over-crowded room. I have no idea how you think that this is acceptable accommodation or how you even manage to stay open. Staff had no idea what was going on, our booking was somehow missing and were told several conflicting stories regarding late fees, deposit returns etc.

There are a few staff members that were good but overall, the upper management/owner were highly disappointing. The cash deposit when you arrive is $10, they give you a slip stating to clean after yourself in order to get the $10 CASH DEPOSIT back but when I did all that was asked of me, they lied and claimed the collector needed to come and they're machines were down when clearly the money is stored in a black metal cash box! Check out is at noon but I had to return at 6pm to get it! Annoying!

Very unorganized. Location is good. Not really clean. Some people have to sleep on an air mattress.

Close to union station, and the staff were great. The beds were ridiculously uncomfortable, and ugly very little sleep due to this. Awesome views of downtown LA. if you like comfort don't stay here, but if you want fun and eccentricity, go for it. A little disappointed that I booked a female dorm and woke up with a male asleep in one of the beds.

Enjoyed the help with adjusting to the move to LA. Very supportive of the arts and the atmosphere is generally good, despite a couple of theives and trouble makers that I had issues with. They seemed to handle the situation to the my satifaction. I was there a month. The owners are very helpful and the staff is friendly. Good place to stay.

Hi stayed here on to seperate occasions the first time Was fine my bed was a little uncomfortable and the place had no way of contacting them to gain Entry when I arrived at 8pm which isn't that's late but apart from that it was fine people were friendly. When I arrived the second time there was lots of people staying my bed had no sheets and was a blow up mattress on a bunk bed that doesn't work to well!! When I got up to leave in the morning there was water coming through the ceiling!!

I loved my stay at the MoonPad. The staff was helpful to show me where to go to in LA. I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and how everyone was interested in everyone. I really liked socializing and learning about other cultures.

The hostel was dark and shady, and the staff were not prepared and took a long time to settle us in.

The owners and all the staff are so nice and accommodating. The guest list is quite international and I got the opportunity to relax and enjoy my stay without breaking my bank. Overall, I am very very satisfied with the experience and will greatly recommend MoonPad Hostels to anyone. AAA+++ Ibrahima D.

During my stay the hostel ran out of toilet paper, towels and pancake mix for the free breakfast. Also, the bathrooms were moderately dirty and I wasn't able to contact anyone to see if there were rooms available. Otherwise the place is perfect for a cheap stay and a relief to find something low key.

MoonPad is out of this world. MoonPad is only steps away & hop off at Mariachi (Gold Line), 12 minutes from the Amtrak Union Station via Metro Rail and : MoonPad has convenient access to everything! I found MoonPad via GPS guided google search for LA Hostels. The owners and staff have a quiet presence which ensures a relaxed stay. Although thematic integration of their renovations is ongoing, MoonPad offsets your inconvenience with temporary lower nightly rate!
