Location is ideal!! I would recommand moonstar to people who want to discover the city, and don't make a big deal about where they stay at. Staff was really pleasant and helpful. Room was clean but not really convenient, anyways my stay was great!!

Absolutely brilliant stay. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Comfortable beds, nice breakfast and it attracts a lot of excellent people. It's a 10 minute walk from all the major sights. Thoroughly enjoyed my time at Moonstar.

This hostel was amazing and at the right price! It is less than a five minute walk to the center, the staff was really friendly and helpful, the terrace has a great view of the water, rooms were clean, lockers were provided, breakfast was provided, it is on a street with many bars and restaurants. The hostel isn't huge, there were a number of people to meet there but not an overwhelming number. I would surely suggest this hostel to anybody visiting Istanbul!

Great place with a wonderful, friendly staff and a nice location. Free breakfast was delicious and the chill out area upstairs was a perfect place to start the night or hang out all night.

My stay stay at the Moonstar far exceeded all my expectations. The staff was helpful, kind, and treated my like family. The hostel is centrally located, and an easy 5 min walk from the Blue Mosque Hagia Sophia, and the tram stop. The facilities are clean and in good working condition. By far my fondest memory of Istanbul is sitting in the upper terrace having a authentic Turkish dinner with the guest and staff of the Moonstar!

We travelled as 3 girls but we didnt mind staying in a mixed bedroom. We initially booked a 4-bed mixed ensuite bedroom but due to change of plans and booking problems, we have to change it to a 10-bed mixed ensuite bedroom. We stayed only for a night, but there were bed problems so one of my friend ended up not having a bed. The owner was really helpful, he sorted out the occupants in the room to accomodate a bed for my friend really quickly but it wasnt satisfying.

The best thing about Moonstar is its location in the heart of Sultanahmet. From here, the historical attractions of Istanbul are only steps away. The guys running the hostel are pretty nice and helpful and the breakfast included in the room's price is more than enough to start the day. All in all, the hostel's got potential and if maintained by the owners, it will definitely be amongst the best in Istanbul. P.S. The prices are very good, too. :)

It was my first time in Istanbul (and Turkey for that matter), and my uncertainty was alleviated with much thanks to the staff at Moonstar. The facilities were always in pristine condition and the staff were quick to help with anything I need; they also provided me with towels, breakfast and other things at no charge. I would definitely recommend Moonstar to travelers - the location is excellent, and the hostel and people were exemplary. Certainly one of the best hostels I've stayed in.

The hostel was in a great place, but it had problems. The bathrooms were dirty, and the doors didn't lock well. The lockers seemed fine, but then I was told by another guest that she had once opened her own locker without the key. The shower was freezing cold, and it seemed like they only occasionally had warm water; there was also only a little curtained area of the room to change in. As for the staff, we mostly dealt with Ilka, who was very friendly; sometimes a little TOO friendly.

Location is very good: few minutes walk from Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Aya Sofya, Staff was very helpful, they gave me advices for places to visit in my few days holidays, booked the shuttle airport and made incredible efforts to understand my bad English. Rich breakfast served on the terrace with a wonderful view Excellent price/quality ratio and i recommend it to low budget traveller like me!!
