We loved the hostel the first night -very comfy beds and friendly atmosphere. but the second night a senior employee (possibly even the owner/manager) got incredibly drunk with two musicians and stayed up singing, shouting and drinking until after 4am next to our room with absolute no consideration for anyone else, paricularly PAYING customers. We had to get up early to travel the next day and a night of virtually no sleep ruined that. Brilliant place with excellent staff in a fantastic location. First time staying in a hostel and was a little wary, especially my six year old son but we all had a brilliant time, food good, the staff were brilliant and fun, the rooms were comfortable and clean with a great en-suite shower / toilet. The entertainment on both nights was a great unexpected bonus. Will most certainly be backBrilliant place with excellent staff in a fantastic location. From the minute we arrived on Friday night until we left on Sunday morning Kenny and the rest of the team made sure that we had an excellent stay. Warm clean comfortable ensuite rooms, tasty, well priced food and entertainment both nights made sure our stay was a memorable one. After a couple of days here you leave feeling that you have made a new bunch of freinds. Desk staff unprofessional - interrupted our checkin to answer phone - then stayed on phone joking with someone for a while. Our Booked/prepaid evening meal was allowed to be eaten by other hostellers and had to find staff to make us something - over an hour before meal cutoff time. Breakfast buffet not maintained - had to ask for cups, spoons, milk and juice jugs to be refilled. Hair on all pillows - seemed like bedding had may not have been changed. Morag's Lodge was a pleasant place to stay. The shower was moldy but the water pressure was awesome!! Our room was a little noisy as it was situated right behind the main entrance to your section and you could hear it creaking evertime someone came in.Morag's Lodge was a pleasant place to stay.
