The rooms are not worth renting out in this hostel. When we arrived they were no curtains in the room, no running water on our floor and most of the doors or facilities were hanged with notes saying it was out of order or 'please don't use it'. The owner's reply was they were renovating the hostel. We couldn't notice any renovation going on and think you shouldn't rent out an entire floor if you're renovating it. Stil we had to pay 5000 yen a night which is far too much for the facilities.

Stayed only for one night, Moritomizu is a nice hostel. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed on the third floor, in a room with private bathroom but the water did not work on the third floor. There is a lockout between 10am to 4pm. Very close to the station and walking distance to Zenkoji.

The staff was very kind and helpful. They helped create what would be an ordinary hostel stay into an extraordinary stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. The facilities and location are great however the thing that sets it apart in my eyes are the staff. They are very outgoing and friendly and go out of their way to help you. We stayed on a Friday and the staff and some locals had a get together in the hostel, free food and drink and it was a great laugh. The hostel has a very relaxed atmosphere and is a couple of minutes walk from the main resteraunt and bar district in Nagano.

My first impression. Shock. Theres 2 men shooting video to me and follow me until my room. Very inconvenience. And they keep shooting me in living room. The hostel staff not inform me before so i have bad impression for the first time. My room have rescue ledge something that not allow me to lock the door. So no privacy. The bathroom in 2 floor very quite.. A litte bit creepy if i take a bath in the night. But..The hotel staff is very niceeand helpful. Because of this, i will back again

This was the worst place I've stayed in, in Japan. Most of the rooms are out of use due to disrepair. The rooms could all be ensuite but instead they are all out of order leaving only one shower for the whole hostel. Staff don't have much of a clue what's going on. They had no towels available for us. The hostel was very cold. There are no curtains on the windows. They gave us a heater which smelt really bad and had warnings all over it not to use it without good ventilation.

The communal space is good - however overall our stay was very frustrating. There were showers and toilets attached to each room but all except for one were closed and appear to have been closed for years. We were asked to pay a heating fee despite the fact the majority of the facilities were out of use. We were told we had to leave between 9am-4pm - completely unreasonable when we had booked multiple nights, and extremely inconvenient. The dorms also can't be locked!!!!!!!
