The main thing this hostel is missing is a great atmosphere. You just feel like you 're in a really low budget hotel. No common room to socialize with other travelers. In addition the staff aren't a very personable staff. It seems like they're just there to do a job. I would try another place before coming back again.

There was a mix-up of our reservation upon arrival and we got upgraded, which was nice. The next morning at 9AM, the Hotel Manager called us to the lobby for a room exchange and blamed their mix up on us to charge us more money. He was rood and disrespectful, I didn't care for his attitude and unprofessional behavior towards his customers. Either way, the location is perfect and the place is ok, I guess. Everything there was alright except for the manager and his bad attitude towards customers.

Upon arrival we had to wait at the desk for almost 30 minutes until a staff member appeared to check us in. Keys for rooms were just left on the front counter and anyone could have entered the building and helped themselves. There was no bell with which to announce our arrival. Facilities, in particular bathrooms, were very dated and the doors to rooms did not seem very sturdy or secure. We were worried about this, combined with the lack of staffing, as to the security of our belongings.

It's near the central park and quite good. The subway station isn't that far away and so you' ll be downtown in short time. The staff isn't the best of the world, but the manager is very easy and don't like things to be done difficult. I recommend this hostel. It's worth the price.

This hotel is a dump! Our room was a "deluxe ensuite" but the only "deluxe" thing in it was the TV. Everythign and I mean literally everything in the room was old and dirty. The bathroom floor consisted of broken tiles that were piled on top of each other and there was a dirty mat on top of them so that you wouldn't notice them at first, just some very strange bumps. The carpet was so dirty we didn't dare walk barefoot. You hear every noise. The staff are unhelpful, unfriendly and indifferent.

SOrry to hear your stay was not what you expected the room that you received was sufficient enough for our other guest but you was quite difficult to deal with but we did our best to accomodate you to the best of our ability even though you showed no respect to our establishment we apologoze for your stay

We booked ahead of time and the front desk did not have our reservation, even though we had paid the booking fee on HW. I was worried that we would not have anywhere to stay but they got us a room quickly. The girl at the front desk was initially a little rude, which I was miffed about. They called up to our room to tell us that our stay would be on them and that they were sorry for the inconvenience. We really appreciated it and had a nice time. Everything was clean and neat.

Staff was helpful but aside from the manager, everyone else was undertrained, not knowing about stuff like fees in the receipt. I was discouraged because the current doorkeeper didn't allow us to store our luggage on the luggage room in the basement, even having a reservation for the next day.

When I booked the room for 4, I chose the same exact option I chose for when I stayed last year. I was assuming that I would have a room with a kitchen, seeing as it was the same price as last year. It would have been nice to know the room was different, as we had been planning on having the kitchen to use .

The location is great, only 3 minutes walk to the subway. The room I booked was with private bathroom, so everything in the room was clean and sufficient. However, I went to the shared bathroom once and I saw there were poop in the trash cans in the bathroom that made the entire hallway stinky. Other than this bad point, I would say, it worth my money staying in the hostel.

It lives up to the name budget for sure. There were stains and an odd smell in our room, plus they were doing construction while we were staying there. We had our own bathroom which on the bright side was clean because I would not want to deal with a single shared bathroom like some of the other rooms. There was at least cleaning service every morning, fridge and a shared microwave per floor. If you are on a budget and don't plan on being in your room often, it is in a safe location.

I enjoyed my stay and I will stay here again. The only issue I found and which surprised me was that the price on Hostelworld did not include the 15% tax, on top of the expected bill. In the future it would clearly help people to plan in advance if they knew how much the final, total bill comes out to be. Paul, the manager was very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this place, since it is quite central, close to the subway and considering its location quiet.

I thought the hotel manager was so wonderful, humorous, and helpful. He even printed off specific instructions to help us get to the JFK airport via subway and airtran. Whenever we had an issue, someone at the front desk was there to help us. The only downside is that the bathrooms could be kept a little cleaner and the walls were damaged in parts, and the guest room doors were super thin and didn't seem to be very strong (security wise, an extra lock would have made us feel better).

The hotel was okay, but there were some things that hadn´t worked out. When we arrived there was a red spot on the bed sheet. We just asked to get a new sheet and they told me that they would change it asap. That never happened. On the carpet in front of the bathroom was a verry big moldy space. You needed to make a big stap through it to get into the bathroom without stepping on the molt, which gave a litte uncomfortable feeling of stepping on the floor without shoes on your feet.

We stayed at 4th floor for 7 days. The room was good and the bathroom ok. A very quiet local, good for rest. Theres a metro station 3 blocks near e the central park is 3 blocks to. There is a bus station 1 block near where you can get the M60 bus to em from La Guardia airport. The manager, Patrick, was very kind with us. The price is not so cheap, but that's New York city, right?! We would stay there again and recommend the morning side inn hostel to everybody.

This hostel is really offers you only the basic need of having a bed for the night. But that's OK because you want to see NYC and not your bedroom. The price is of course great. The connection with the subway No. 1 is absolutely superb because you can enter the subway pretty close to the hostel and it takes you only 30min to get to the South Ferry Station (south end of lower Manhattan). It's about 15min to get to Midtown (Rockefeller Center).
