Dorms are too cramped. Ear plugs a must. Ok I guess if you are under 25 and having a laugh but if not then try hard to find somewhere else!
The location is fine. If you walk to the hostel at night ,I suggest you walk along the main street. Although it costs more time ,it is better for you to see the road and carry the luggage easier. However,it is close to grund station. I don't need to wake up very early.I can just take the third train to Jungfrau. Just a few people in the train. I can see the mountains and beautiful view through my window. It is very comfortable to stay there. Breakfast included.
The Hostel is Not Bad by default, but there are many small things that left a bitter aftertaste. For example the doubble bunks, they are real. so if you book a dorm, be prepared to sleep right next to a stranger. Also the Lack of a kitchen in Village aß pricey as Grindelwald can really chew through your wallet.(They have a grill though) Combine that with the enormus price and a crowd that mostly doesn't speak english(during my stay at least) and you get a Bad value for your money.
Right beneath the mountains which makes for easy access to hiking trails. A bit of a trek to the mountain town but once you sign up for thistle they give you free bus coupon.
Mountain Hostel is a 15 minute walk from the main street in Grindelwald, and it has a beautiful view. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was very helpful. They willingly helped us print bus tickets, even when it didn't work on the first two tries. The only negative is that they do charge you for plastic forks and plates, which is a bit ridiculous. However, all in all, a good stay, close to bus and train lines as well.
First, the room was so clean that we even believed we should take off our shoes. However, we could not give the hostel high score because it existed many discomfortable points. Towel 、sheet and even tableware need to pay. No kitchen, it only provided the microwave. Of course, if you like barbecue, you can use the supply outside the hostel. And the hostel is not close to the centre of Grindelwald. If you come back too late ,about after 6-7pm, there is no bus to take you from G to it.
The staff were friendly and the common room, bathroom, showers and bedrooms were always clean. Breakfast was nice and the beds are comfortable. The things that I disliked was the fact that my room did not have a lock, as well as having to pay extra for basics such as a blanket, a towel and even plastic cutlery. The hostel has a beautiful location at the foot of Eiger, however it is about a 10 minute uphill walk to town - although there is a free bus that runs about every 30 minute.
friendly staff in a nice place breakfast good outdoor terrace and lounge good but a few issues. wifi wasn't working, this is really important for travellers needing to plan things etc. No kitchen to cook in or plates and cutlery to use, had to pay for plastic ones. Not being given a room key!! we were told it was because some more people might check in and there was only one key per room?!?! ridiculous. no one else even came. then the lockers only took 5 frank coins. also flies everywhere!

Staffs are really nice and helpful, while the owner is greedy, they closed kitchen & even no fridge, charges everything such as towel. They provide a micro oven, but you have to pay for a plate or a plastic fork, so that they can minimal your chance to eat your own food. Bed is horrible, because it's two single mattress bonded together in a double size bed, so you probably have to sleep like couple with a stranger. Location is good for hickers, but not for most tourist, train finish at 7pm
Always a pleaure to stay at this Hostel Additional thanks for the use of BBQ facilities
My days in this hostel were the best days in Swiss. Right under Eiger, you can use BBQ grill for free, so me and my friends feasted on Korean barbeque. You get a discount for a local swimming pool and a Grindelwald visitor card, which helps to get you 50% discount for trains going up to First. Rooms are spacious and I had best cheese in Swiss here. Best breakfast out of all 25 hostels I stayed during my trip. To get to Grund you have to walk a bit, but the stars on the sky pay it off. :)
