A very poor experience! On arrival at 2.30pm we had to wait over half an hour for staff to arrive to give us keys. Our room was a disgrace - there was thick dust everywhere, the sheets had dirty marks, the walls were filthy and the safe - a lockable filing cabinet -didn't lock. The bathrooms were mixed and had just a thin shower curtain to protect the modesty of the people using the bathrooms. There were undesirable characters (guests or intruders?) walking around the corridors late on Fri night

very good location, freee breakfast. Only bad thing is you cant party at this hostel.. and another thing, the cleaners poured bleach over my clothes because i left them in the washing machine, so be careful. Besides that its not a bad place to stay.

We arrived there and had to carry our really heavy bags up a thousand steps. The reception looked more like a student room. My fault was that I payed before I had a look in the room. We had a double room the two beds (without sheets!)were really old and the whole room looked disgusting and unclean. I had to pay all which was 70 bugs a night which is really expensive for something like that! So before you pay and sign have a look at your room as I couldnt get my money back. We straightly left!

Stayed in private double room for 1 night. Room was clean, staff friendly and breakfast basic. Hostel is in middle of town and close to a number of pubs, Darling Harbour and Chinatown. Was a little noisy, but not too bad considering you are right in the middle of town.

The staff was incredibly unhelpfull, we had to pasy to leave the bags 3 h before leaving, the noisy street doesent help to sleep, the breakfast was cheap and no one was speaking to eachother. Exept its location, no good point for us.

good location in cbd. you can walk to darlling harbour. supermarcket near by. rooms can be noise from road traffic. free breakfast handy.wireless internet cost you 5 dollars per day, the place is resonably clean. kitchen is ok. lockers in the room. reception closes around 7 or 8 pm. but they do arrange late check ins. there is a free bus you can take to the opera house and botanic garden. a lot of people living here seem to be working in sydney, even though they are travellers. common area sma

I think the most advantage of this hostel is that is located in center of sydney and in main street of city.it is near to every year . when I was in this hostel, I could easily access to anywhere even by walking. i caused that I spent less time and money. however, I had good time there.

clean rooms, very good security, free basic breakfast. A drawback was the rather constant background noise in my room from I dunno what - soom kind of air conditioning? Also the matress was rather bulky and hard, didn't sleep too well there.

Nice and clean but needs some repairs. They assign beds so if you try to switch to a bottom bunk like me they might take your sheets or move your stuff around or through something of yours out. They put my shoes and dirty bag on top of my bed to clean one day and left it there which I didn't appreciate when I returned. Comfortable place to stay but staff doesn't interact much with guests. Always busy or not at the reception so expect to wait awhile if you need something

The hostel is quite small and in a very noisy part of town so it can be hard to sleep, especially on a weekend but the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the young man who stayed past his finishing time to help me book a taxi for the next day. I only staye one night but I would go back again. Thanks.

We stayed at Mountbatten for 9 nights in the double private room. The room was perfect for what we needed and was secure. The toilet and bathroom were clean as well as the bed linen and towels (which come free with the room). The hostel was quiet. We didnt use the kitchen but it had all the facilities aswell as a large TV and dining table. The location was good, although around 40mins walk to the opera house but there is a free bus (555) which runs until 3.30.
