Standard hostel.the sauna is a bonus but its weighed out since there is no free tea and coffee which is basically a standard around NZ.

Really nice hostel. Beds were comfortable. Nice lobby and sitting room. Staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. Really enjoyed my experience here. Just wish I could have stayed for longer. Location is excellent. Right in the middle of the National Park and scenery is great.

Everything is excellent except the dining area is a bit small, not really enough.

The beds in the dorm rooms are really bad, especially for this price you would expect to get good bunks, but these cheap metal beds are just hurting in the back. Besides that and the little options to buy food, I had a good stay.

Very nice hostel, with great staff and great views. Great bar with good food, good music and incredible view of the mountains! In all; great stay! We only had a problem with a staffmember who was not willing to help when we wanted to rent two bikes. There was only one bike left, after we specifically asked the day before if we needed to make any reservations. Instead of showing us some help (through another hostel?) she just told us to wait for a few hours or to have showed up sooner. Rude..

Wow to the location staff very friendly

We had an amazing 4-bed dorm with ensuite and a balcony with a view of the spectacular mountains - absolute luxury! Only slight complaint is the lack of free wifi but you can buy some for 24 hours for fairly cheap. Worth it I would say if you need to make plans and book an onward trip. Also, if you order food in the restaurant, be prepared to wait a while!

No matter where you were there were amazing views all around, the staff were friendly and it was really close to the Hooker Glacier walking track

Hostel is generally good. The location is fantastic with great views if the landscape. The rooms are cosy and warm with good bedding and bathrooms. There's even a fridge in the room which is handy. The kitchen is a bit plain, with limited plates and bowls. No tea or coffee on offer. Bar is ok, good food but poor beer selection, not badly priced. Reception can be unattended at times but staff are good, very friendly and helpful. snacks and coffee from reception are overly expensive though. good.
