Property Information:
The place to be in Hakuba for skiing. Inhouse bar, inhouse ski rental shop,cheap lift passes and free shuttle buses to 8 ski resorts in Hakuba. Best location with restaurants,bars,convenience shop and onsen all within a few minutes walk.
Each ski resort has a shuttle bus leaving approximately every hour in the morning and coming back every hour in the afternoon.The shuttle buses operate between the 20th Dec and 31 March. Prior to that and during April and early May, the hostel itself will do a shuttle bus to one ski resort, rotating daily.

Mt Hakuba Backpackers is fully equipped with an inhouse bar (separated from the sleeping areas),restaurant,guest laundry,guest kitchen, and an internet cafe (with free wireless). The bar has cozy sofas, a free billiard table and 2 daily happy hours. You can buy cheap but filling meals at the bar (it is only open during the ski season).
Mt Hakuba Backpackers Hostel has a drying area for gear, and we also rent out ski/boarding equipment at cheap prices. We also sell discounted lift tickets to all of the major ski areas in Hakuba saving you time and money.
You may pay by cash or credit card but please note that payment by credit card will incur a surcharge of 4% (this is the amount our bank charges us) so if you wish to avoid this please pay by cash on arrival.

Really enjoyed my stay - staff are awesome (Hiromi, Nori, Misato); 500 Yen meals are delicious. Drying room for ski gear is a real plus. Beds are comfortable & rooms have good heaters. It's the first hostel I've stayed at in Japan that has a good lounge and bar area! Just be aware it's a bit awkward/costly getting there from Hakuba TRAIN station (shuttle buses dont run throughout the day, so taxi is only option at approx 1300-1500 Yen). Buses from Tokyo arrive close to hostel though.

This property has a 7 day cancellation policy.Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.

We have a 7 day cancellation policy. If you wish to cancel please do so by 10 am 2 days before your scheduled arrival time or you will be charged for the first night.
Damage by you to the hostel: By making a reservation with your credit / debit card you authorise Cairns City Backpackers to charge that same card any damage caused by you to the hostel buildings or facilities up to the amount required to repair/replace such buildings or facilities back to the same condition it was in prior to such damage without further reference to you.
