Rooms were beyond filthy and if you're unlucky enough to be put in room number 1 you have to share a bathroom with the bar patrons and general public. Communal areas were small and also very dirty, including the kitchen. A very unpleasant hostel experience, considering the standard of hostels these days.

The place is cheap for Hakuba and pretty close to a few of the big resorts. It was pretty cold and the lack of an adequate shoe storage area in the front lobby meant that your shoes were always wet and cold. The Problem = the owner, who wasn't the friendliest and who due to a lack of any organisational skills wrongly charged my credit card. Also I heard numerous complaints from other people staying there about how he had screwed up their bookings and had to move them between rooms frequently.
Awesome location close to the shuttle bus stop, bars and a convenience store. The staff was helpful and the bar had pretty cheap drinks and meals. I wouldn't recommend renting gear from their shop though, go down the road to Spicy and pay a bit more for quality.
It was my 3rd visit, so obviously I like it! The staff are friendly and helpful. There is usually a good atmosphere there too.
