I only spent 1 night there and there were very few other guests whom I didn't even see therefore it was very quiet and calm. The room was nice with lots of space and everything was clean - it's halfway towards a proper hotel (the price as well). There is no permanent staff present, they come on time so it is good to keep to the arrival time.

Generally we are really easy going people and never complain. However, the cold showers, the noise, the dirty bathroom, the unfriendly and abrupt owner, the terrible bed and the almost about-to-collapse state of this place which should really not be advertised as a hostel made it almost impossible not to complain. The only positive is the location.

I had an extremely poor experience at Mushrooms. I arrived at the address stated on Hostelworld which had a banner stating the name of the hostel. No one answered the buzzer and I waited round for an hour, in the end I had to make several expensive international phone calls to locate the "hostel", the owner was very rude on the phone and blamed me for going to the wrong location and wasting her time. This could have been a nightmare for a less experienced traveller without a mobile

I really enjoyed my stay at Mushrooms and I will stay there again when I travel to Budapest. The room was clean and cosy. The staff were very helpful. I got all the information I needed and the location was just right and in a very nice part of the city centre.

Very nice place,clean and has the best location . they don't have reception but Andrea(the owner) is often in the flat. only wfi is missing .I will for sure go there again !! Jelena

The mushroom basilica hostel is very good locate , close to the city center and to the tramway and subway stations. there is a lot of facilities (TV, washing machine, dishes,...), a balconie for the smokers and a rest room for each bedroom. The appartement is clean and the towels are changed every day. At last, Andrea, the manager is very kind ! Thank you Andrea and enjoy your travel !
