There are 2 branches of MushROOMs, one at Lazar Utca 9, the other at Akademia Utca 14. I stayed at both. Both properties situated close to restaurants, subway, and attractions. The hostel comes with a living room and kitchen which provides almost EVERYTHING you need. Laundry machine, iron, fridge, etc. The person in charge is very friendly, always smiling, answer questions Budapest's attractions. Tourist guides are also available in hostel. Hostel is kept clean everyday. GOOD PLACE TO STAY

Generally I was satisfied, but my bathroom was in hall, with no locker and couldn't close properly. Also, people who stayed there used it also, although they had their own. Also, you should change that information about check-in time, it's not anytime.

Very recommended: we had some problems with the overbooking, but the stuff solved the problem very fast and efficiently. Thank you again to the Mushrooms Hostel for making our stay in Buapest nice.

If you want to stay in the center of Budapest, Mushrooms is the place to be. The apartment is very cosy and you will find everything there you need, and gives you a home feeling. Andrea is a very nice person and the next time i will be in Budapest, i'm going to try to sleep there again.

Sometimes it is staff what makes the stay nice and this is the case. Andrea, the owner, is not only very friendly and helpful, but also very pretty. :) This "hostel" is basically a private apartment with three rooms. We stayed in a 4bed room which consists of 1 double a 2 single beds. It has a tiny bathroom. The place looks a bit old and grey but also thanks to its location it's enough for a overnight stay. It can get a bit noisy but value reflects price.

The hostel is really cute, but when we arrived the owner Andrea told us that she had never received the comunication of our reservation. However she immediately found out a solution giving us another and bigger room.

Perfect location, Andrea is very friendly. The only remark is that you should be there at the time you fill in while booking the hostel. There is no reception. The rest is very good, I will certainly be coming back to this hostel.

Great location,Clean,Cheap,Not a dorm,Relaxed,Good communal area with 2 couches, tv, kitchen etc Friendly owner,Own bathroom with nice strong shower,Free towels. Bad points:No reception - its pretty much just an apartment- no one there on arrival waited 1 hour not knowing what to do - no instructions on door- eventually found number to ring on email- so-should be informed by email how important arrival time is.Noisy on street side-bar across st. No blind. Vvv hard bed!!Other bedrooms better.

AVOID! dont get faked by their pics!

First of all, the building itself looks so scary from outside and within the first impression of surrounding no one get feeling of living there. Secondaly, when they advertise 3 bed or 4 bed room, they meant ( 2 double bed or 1 single bed).So if you are coming in a group it can put in uncomfortable position and they just say check pictures.

Sehr nettes Pesonal. Nachts war es etwas laut durch Türen, die im Innenhof geschlagen wurden. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war super, auch die Lage des Hostels war gut.

centric hostel, very good price, equipped apartment, quite uncomfortable mattresses and small rooms, but normal for a low budget hostel!

Mushrooms has a good location. It is just between the Opera and the Szent Istvan-bazilika where you can see the right hand of the first king of Hongary. Also not far from the subway or bus stations. Andrea is a very helpful and kind staff~~ She recommended us some good local restaurant. And the guest house is clean and large of course, as well as sweet. We'd like to come back :)

I can't say enough about this hotel. It is very close to the Jewish quarter so there are lots of places to go out to eat and for fun at night nearby. The room is like a little apartment with a bathroom and kitchen down the hall. The bathroom was lovely and clean. There is also a washing machine available to do laundry. I was there for three nights it would be perfect for a longer stay.
